Does anyone want to make a pact with me?
Tricia K. replied to sleepyjean's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'll make a concerted effort to stay. -
No leener, I have never felt ill after getting a fill. I do hope you feel better soon though.

Donna, this is awesome! Thank you so much for sharing the photos with us. You both must be very proud. Congrats to you and your son.

K-CEE, congrats on your upcoming surgery date. To answer your question, my surgeon ok'd walking from the get-go but said to hold off on anything else for the first 8 weeks. He also said that I should not lift more than 20 pounds for the first 4 weeks. Following that, the sky was the limit.
-
Oh leener, that's wonderful. How nice of your surgeon to give you a fill during your follow-up visit. Yay!! I agree with vines, I highly doubt that swimming will hurt the puncture wound.

Don't leave, lianna!!

Sammee, as hard it may be, the best thing to do is ignore what these ignorant people are saying/posting and hold your head up high with the knowledge that you know the truth. I know that it's frustrating and your first instinct is to set them straight, but responding to their posts will only fuel the fire. Are you familiar with the saying "You can lead a horse to Water but you cannot make him drink?" The same applies to these people. You'll talk until you're blue in the face before you'll convince them of the truth. Hugs

minifyeme, my surgeon told me that roller coasters (and the like) posed no harm to the band.

There are no guarantees that you won't have saggy skin. There are, however, several factors that play into how your skin reacts to the weight loss. Specifically - genetics, age, how long you've been heavy, stretch marks, etcetera.

Ha ha...you know it! Come on up!!

Update - the closing is scheduled for next Wednesday (Aug. 2nd) at 11am! :biggrin1: Thanks again, everyone.

You're very welcome. I've seen as much as a 4 lb. gain after exercising.
-
Yes, I noticed this and it's because you are building muscle, which weighs more than fat. It should eventually even out so that you're on the losing side again.

Once Banded, How Much Weight Did You Lose In The First 2 Months?
Tricia K. replied to ItsGottaGo!'s topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
At 2 months out, I was down 26 pounds. I'm now 10 1/2 months out and have lost a total of 86 pounds. 86 pounds/45 weeks = 1.91 pounds/week I have 28 pounds to go before I reach my goal. -
Congrats! :clap2:

Anyone wish they would have had gastric bypass?
Tricia K. replied to Monica S's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I do not wish I would have had gastric bypass. Had lap band surgery not been available, I would have remained at my pre-surgery weight. Gastric bypass was NEVER an option for me. -
If you're properly restricted, you probably wouldn't be able to eat anywhere near the portions you've listed in your post-banding menu.

I don't think I've been blatantly hit on but men do seem to wave and smile at me a lot now while I'm in my car.
