I have to weigh everyday due to my heart condition. I have to watch if there is too much fluctuation and take meds accordingly. I only count my weight on Mondays regarding weightloss.

It's not over till it's over. You know the changes you need to make to kick yourself back in to gear. Build on you past success. -
One of my top 10 reasons for having this surgery was to be able to attend my son and nephews functions without sweating or getting to tired. Today they had a big robotics competition and I not only worked the concession stand I was able to help clean up. No heart issues and my feed didn't even hurt wearing my tall boots. Not heals but still normally I would be limping and worn out. I'm so excited. I kicked butt and took names. Oh and all three teams are going to state!!!

Blood Sugar Levels - Diabetes Questions
GibbsGirl replied to Lord Nikon's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@loriemoms Thanks for the encouraging words, Amazing how you've done! I know 103 is norm, in fact my sugar levels on meds never went above 130. When I got the meds, my A1C was almost 9, but since I went on a diet and stopped stuffing down sugars (months before my surgery) it dropped down to 5.7. Why I am concerned? Well, the rise in numbers and my legs are starting to swell up (again). My sugars were up from the surgery until about a week after surgery. The trauma to your body from the surgery causes it to rise. I would call the doc especially about the swelling, -

Dumbest thing you ever heard...

I feel that way about my favorite jeans I got back in to them and now have to say goodbye. To funny. -
My weight verses height standards are off as well. 19 years ago I lost down to the 135 that is suppose to be my ideal weight. I could maintain that if I didn't eat or want to move. I decided on this journey to shoot for 150, I am 47 years old and have shoulders like a linebacker. I want to be healthy but also realistic. Let's say my favorite jeans I worked hard to get back into are too big and I am mourning the loss, my Mom altered them so they fit correctly. I'm thrilled to get smaller but I hate trying to find jeans. My doctor tries not to concentrate on numbers so I am thankful for that. I gave him a list of what I wanted this surgery to accomplish other than a number. I made it through walmart without sweating last week. SCORE!!!

Husband not supportive
GibbsGirl replied to christina Abdo's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I spoke to a friends husband last week. He has many fears, the biggest is losing her to the surgery. He got tears in his eyes and said "We have three boys to raise and she is my everything." He of course was a complete ass when she first mentioned surgery saying "What then you can leave me" He's a huge dork, when we talked I started the conversation with "If she wanted to leave you, she wouldn't wait to lose weight, You would be the first 200lbs she lost!!" We have that kind of relationship. He ask me tons of questions but He and she have to set down and communicate. I'm single and it took a bit for a couple members of my family to get on board. My Son was the hardest part, he's 16 and he did great until about a week till the surgery and he was so afraid. I also have a bum heart, so I understand my situation was different. I saw an episode of my 600 lb life where a husband literally stopped through a drive through when he was taking his wife home from the hospital and made her hold his hamburger. I think you have to determine for yourself is he acting out in fear or selfishness. After I took my little sister to a support group she felt much better about the surgery, but maybe a counseling session would help get the communication started. -
Tomorrow I am eating at a restaurant with the whole family. It's after my nephews honor concert and we usually stop at a steak place or a buffet place. I have scoped out both menus for good options. I am still on soft foods till January 20th. Here's to making a good choice that will work and not cause problems.

Who do you want to be after?
GibbsGirl replied to Nurse_Lenora's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My family was supportive and all for me, but right at the end of the process my 16 yr old got really scared. It was tough going through with it, knowing how scared he was, but I had to do it for myself. -

Today my sister pulled me aside today and mentioned since I started this journey my breath has gotten really bad. She said the only time it seemed to get better when I stopped drinking the Protein shakes for a week. I'm am happy she shared so now I am carrying mints. I had suspected and brushed my teeth a lot but alas now I know for sure. @@Dub wish I had the dog to blame it on.

Just watch if you stop going, yikes. Iv never had problems in this area and gulp ended up with a hemorrhoid, approx the size of Texas. I am taking Dulcolax every 3 days just to keep things going through soft foods and hopefully on. Doctor said it was normal. I don't like this part of normal. -

I am a T-shirt and Jeans kinda girl, I love everything from knee boots to motorcycle boot to cowboy boots. Today I was looking at some jeans at a friends shop that were waist measurement sizes, I was thinking hmmmm I'm going to have to learn a new way to shop. I was just killing time till we went and saw her new space. She runs over and asks me what size I want to be, I know it's crazy but my focus has been on just getting through and feeling better, She decided on what my size will be and put the Jeans back for me as an intensive. Style wise I want to be able to wear button down shirts, jeans and tuck my shirt in, dress clothes wise I really love the Annie hall type look, plaid pants, jacket and button shirt, more masculine but still feminine. Gosh, I am getting really excited.
