Relying on feeling full or amount you can eat versus portions
GibbsGirl replied to Sharon1964's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm still at that stage I portion, but am very aware at any type of full feeling or off feeling I stop. I know that it takes a little while right now for it to kick in and I can have stopped and still get that overfull feeling a few minutes later. That to me is way to uncomfortable. Being me, I see weighing and counting etc, for a very very long time, I'm on the cautious side. If that is what it takes for me to be successful I'm more than willing, -
11 days till surgery and i ate sugar last night! regrets!

Don't panic, it's ok. Just follow your pre-op diet to the letter from now on. Pre-op is meant to shrink your liver and get you used to the changes coming. But realize you are doing this without the tool you will have after surgery. No excuses but punishing yourself is not necessary. It's not easy but it is worth it. I had a piece of birthday cake yesterday, small piece but honestly it wasn't worth it either. Didn't taste that great. -
Last night I skipped dinner because my stomach was feeling just odd. Thursday night my son had a stomach flu maybe it was a touch of that, but this morning I could barely stand up and sit down with my 9 month old God son in my arms. It was a bizarre feeling I haven't had since my heart problems started 10 years ago. I squatted down to pick something up later and seriously did not have the energy to stand back up. Until yesterday I have met my Protein goals and have been feeling great.I'm pushing the liquids and ate protein once today all though I could not eat much. If it is not better by morning, I'll call in, with my bum heart I have always had down days where I was so tired I had to rest maybe I'm getting spoiled so today caught me off guard.

You can't control people or their thoughts. Your doing this for you and they can get happy in the same pants they got ugly with you in.

I hope so, still just trying to get Fluid down and not anything else. Feel ok but have to try and get my meds down.

Family pics, I had to really work myself up to take these, so I'm being goofy -
I have been miserable freezing since surgery, I'm 5 weeks out, but this week have warmed up quite a bit. I am still needing socks at night and not running around in shorts or no coat. But it has also been a warm week here in OK. I'm going to be cold, I accept it and try to remind myself that one of my biggest goals was not to sweat through my clothes even in winter. But dang I hate my feet being cold!!

Replying to a "Wow, How are you Losing so much Weight?"

Have them lean way in and whisper "faeries". -
Unfortunately some people are not able to live up to our expectations for ourselves. Sounds like your a really kind and giving person and she's just not quite there. You have to decide if that's something you can live with, and lower your expectations. There is no right or wrong here, your feelings count.

Friday NSV roll call!
GibbsGirl replied to Nurse_Lenora's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Baby sat a 1 year old tonight, cleaned like a crazy person since it was kinda a last minute thing. I spent the whole night up and down off the floor and running crazy. I realized I am not nearly as tired as I normally would have been. Now I'm finishing up Dr. Who and then watching Moon Struck. Don't judge me, I am a woman of various tastes. -

Friday NSV roll call!
GibbsGirl replied to Nurse_Lenora's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I had a picture from this time last year pop up, it helped me put how much I have lost in perspective. The Jeggings my sister insisted I buy a couple of weeks ago actually fit more comfortably. Which she says are too big. lol -
I had the same problem with being tested to be a bone marrow donor because of my heart issues it was a no go. I think it just means you are meant to help your friend in other ways.

I have always logged the after cooked weight. That may be wrong.

Can I please borrow your wife? I don't see why it would be a problem and I'm going to look for it. I'm just done with shakes and I force them down. A new flavor would be heaven. -

To tell or not to tell? WLS
GibbsGirl replied to RLH7882's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sooooooo nobody is asking lol. 45 pounds down nothing. Small town, I'm telling ya. The only people I did not want to share or have know about my surgery until it got around was my ex and his family. Just non of his or their business, they live out of town so no big deal. I ask my 17 year old son just to keep my medical stuff private. Then I started to feel guilty, I didn't want him to have to lie so I set him down and told him if he was asked he could be truthful. He said ohhh dad already ask why you were having surgery, I told him you wouldn't want him to know. lol Well the truth is the truth. -
I had to use a suppository, it helps within an hour.

GibbsGirl replied to frankenstein's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Been thinking of you today, this is the beginning of a grand adventure. Keep your eye on the prize which is feeling so much better. I'm 1 month 4 days out, it was not easy but I'm feeling more and more normal.
