Weight Loss Surprise: Same size clothes at higher weight because of older body?!?!?
GibbsGirl replied to OutsideMatchInside's topic in The Gals' Room
I was just talking about this with a friend at a thrift store. I'm a size 14 right now and before my son was born I was a size 14 but was 50 pounds lighter. But I tried on a pair of jeans from my sister in laws after college days around 15 years ago and they say 20 they are a little loose. I think some of it has to do with the stretch that is in most clothes today. 5 pair of jeans for $20, not bad. My friend had the band a few years ago and looks amazing, was teaching me the ropes on sizing etc. -

Don't let my ticker fool you, I lost 20 pds before surgery and have slowed down significantly, maybe hitting a stall. Getting my Fluid in is a daily struggle. I set up for an hour last night forcing a bottle of Water down to reach 44 oz. I purchased some sugar free orange crush drops the other day. It helped mix things up. As for the other end, I have to use something twice a week. The keep telling me it will start to work itself out. Just count your non scale victories and remember its usually not the fastest horse out of the gate that wins, stamina is more important. -
Protein is protein.

That has bothered me all day, running crazy thinking how do you spell that, lol. I'm with you, played softball till I was 35. Either eating gnats, mosquitoes and dirt, which is why I was questioning acting like a baby. Spiders, Nope Nope Nope, I just can't even think about it!!! My son was convinced he killed a black widow in his room. I said fuzzy nope, shiny yes, so he had to bring it to me. Even dead I flinched when he pulled it out. LOL -
I purchased some sugar free drops for my Water. I just needed a change, and it helped me increase my intake. I over estimated how sweet it would be so ended up getting a green lantern cup and cutting it with ice and plain water. I'm doing my thing and drinking, when I notice something in my water as I take a drink. I of course swallow and think I feel something sliding down. Yes I am choking and coughing and basically being a baby. Then I have to acknowledge Protein is protein, though there is not an entry available on my food tracker for 1 knat. Go figure.

I of the sideways picture have Medicare and it covered my sleeve. -
I was shocked when I saw a balloon done last night, interesting but awake, yikes. I had Hulu free for 3 months and it goes off today. I'm happy to hear it's on you tube.

To tell or not to tell? WLS
GibbsGirl replied to RLH7882's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That was a great story!!! I told some friends, some family, and my coworkers, but I don't want all my of my fellow church goers to know. I do hope I don't have wardrobe problems . Thanks for a great story! Just don't get snarky with any younger siblings. -
Your my hero.

Throat Punch, seriously if someone said that today it would be so. Then I would buy them all the Protein shakes, since they could no longer swallow and ask them how much they like them the next few weeks. I am cranky, I am sick of food and worrying about food. I feel like I need a damn noodle or a Frito chip. Riding my stationary bike is hurting my butt and I need to go buy new underwear, which I would rather eat glass but it probably has carbs. I'm doing great and I don't regret my decision but today would not be the day to say such things.

Alright got it at Walmart today and trying it tomorrow!!! -
My sister has this condition and she hasn't had any surgery. She takes Senna and has had success. I personally have had issues since surgery that they say work themselves out. I'm going to give this a shot.

Waiting period between surgeries
GibbsGirl replied to numeby2017's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Thanks all. I know it's for the best so that I am able to heal again properly and not be in any unnecessary danger. The wait is just driving me crazy lol. Especially after I followed the WLS prerequisites to a T before the pelvic masses were found throwing a wrench into it all. But I will be patient. Bless your heart, that just sucks. -
Waiting period between surgeries
GibbsGirl replied to numeby2017's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I know it's hard but your body needs to be in top shape to heal properly. I had my pacemaker replaced a month before my surgery. No big deal except all the gas settled right over the pacemaker site and it swelled up like a balloon. Trust your doctor. -
Sugar was my thing for sure. I had to muscle through withdraw and I ventured out Sunday at 5 weeks and had a tiny piece of cake. My taste buds have changed and it wasn't nearly as good as I thought it would be. I would rather have sugar free Jello or pudding.
