I started this journey three months ago, and am very close to having the gastric sleeve surgery.  This has actually been a lifetime journey, I was always the largest person in my group of friends.  Before my child was born I was extremely active playing team sports at least 3 nights a week.  I was overweight but could hold my own in a competitive sport.  As my job duties increased I ended up having to retire and spent most my time traveling.  On my good weeks or months I didn't have to ask for an extension on a plane, but as time went along it became a necessity.  Aprox 13 years ago I caught a virus and it attacked my heart, 10 years ago I was dx with cardiomyopathy, congestive heart failure and Afib.  So I was put on disability immediately and put on even more weight.  5 years ago I had a life change and lost and kept off 40 pounds and have fought tooth and nail to be well enough for this type life change and surgery.   I am very excited and looking forward to continuing this new chance at a new life.
