I am about 3 months post sleeve and every evening after dinner I get so sick to my stomach. I thought it was what I was eating or maybe the amount but somedays I can eat the same exact thing for lunch and feel fine. Any idea what could be going on?

Solid foods soon. Kinda scared
robynbyrd replied to robynbyrd's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yesterday was day 4 on solids. I had half to three quarters a 5 oz yogurt for breakfast a quarter to a thrid of a veggie patty (no bun) for lunch and 6 cubes of chicken for dinner. Each time I ate until I felt full but not stuffed. Maybe I am overeating? I'm just really nervous about screwing up and going through all this for nothing. -
Solid foods soon. Kinda scared
robynbyrd replied to robynbyrd's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So I don't eat until full? Now I'm more confused. My handbook says 4 to 8 oz. per meal. Right now I'm lucky if I can eat a quarter of a scrambled egg before I'm full. That's nowhere near 4 oz. -
I'm about to start solid foods and I am super nervous. I'm afraid the minute I put food in my mouth I will gain weight. I don't know why I have this fear. I'm sure it steams from not succeeding in the past. Anyone have any suggestions on how to help me through this?

Favorite Purees?

Sweet potato pear and broccoli. It sounds gross but oh so yummy. Steam until soft and puree. -

Hospital bag....what do I need?
robynbyrd replied to nicky2221's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I packed all this stuff and didn't even open my bag. I couldn't drink anything for the first 24 hours after surgery and couldn't shower for 72 hours. The clothes I wore in were the ones I wore home and took a shower the second I walked though the door. -
Diarrhea and constipation

I'm about 6 weeks in and I'm still having bouts of constipation followed by diarrhea. Is this normal or something serious? -

Keeping your surgery a secret - is it possible?
robynbyrd replied to Lydia PR's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Only my husband and my boss at work know. I work in the hospital where I had it done so I'm sure others there know. But can't tell because it would be a HIPPA violation. It's hard but I feel it's no one's business. -
Surgery in February 2016. Worried.
robynbyrd replied to Licia2210's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I got sleeved on 12/30. I know I'm only about 2weeks in but I had and still have your same fears. I also had to leave a 2 year old while I was in the hospital. Even now it breaks my heart when she asks me to pick her up and I can't. But I know someday soon I can. I have lost over 20lbs. so far. I don't really feel any different but my husband say my belly is going down. Each day is one step closer to being my normal self again. Sure the clear liquid diet is rough and the diarrhea sucks but seeing that scale drop a little each day makes it easier. Good luck on your journey. -
how long is the Gastric Sleeve surgery ?
robynbyrd replied to boosh10's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
48 minutes total operating time. Puked my guts out in recovery for about an hour. Didn't completely "wake up" until 8 hours after. Worse feeling ever. -

5 days postoperative and feel like my insides are ripping out. I want to stop the pain meds but I can't go more that 4 hours without them or I feel even worse. I feel like a failure because of the pain.

I am two days postoperative and by no means ready for a smaller size yet. But I was wondering if anyone knows of these things called clothing swaps. I have an entire closet full of nice clothes ranging from 18 to 22. It seems like there should be a way to help a fellow bariatric patient instead of just giving them to goodwill.

My favorite is bodyfortress. The chocolate with some peanut butter is awesome. I did try this brand called pure protein and it tastes like cardboard. But you can't buy a reasonable size of it so I have to muddle through with that vanilla flavored cardboard until it's gone.

Pre op diet diet tomorrow
robynbyrd replied to MrsSantiago's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i'm in the same boat. surgery dec 30th. liquid diet started yesterday. and only 15 more days of it to go. Ugh! i can totally agree with the loose stools. i have learned to make sure you are on the pot before letting one rip (i messed my undies at work and had to go commando for the afternoon. NOT COOL). the thing i'm going to miss is sitting down at the table for dinner with the family. but i need to do this for my famliy so... i have found Protein shakes are okay. adding greek yogurt makes them slightly better. G2 gatorade had been my buddy too. i freaking hated gatorade but now its not so bad (beats drinking plain Water all the time). all i know is that cheating is NOT an option. we must stick it out. keep chugging away and it will be here before you know it.
