Hello to all, I'm new to the forum and wanted to introduce myself. My name is Omar I'm 34 years old from NY. I was sleeved on 10/26/2015 and so far it's been a very interesting journey. When I first started the process in January I was 175lbs with with Diabetes and hypertension. With the help of my PCP and surgeon after initial visit I lost around 10lbs and after starting the pre-surgery diet I lost around an extra 19-20lbs, my surgeon put me on the pre-surgery diet a month in advance. I'm now 6 weeks post-op and doing amazing, currently I'm 224lbs went from a size 44 to a 38 and already fitting me loose. My PCP already took me off one the meds for diabetes and probably next week taking me another. Blood pressure is very well controlled, lately it's been not more than 110/68 and glucose levels range between 94 and 104. I wish I had known about this forum earlier that way I wouldn't have to figure things out on my own though I always asked my PCP or surgeon but it's not the same hearing it from them than people that actually went through it.

Bariatric Vitamins
omerbasa2807 replied to Jessica _ Stephens's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thats the reason my surgeon told me to start the iron at week #3 because it tends to be kind of heavy for the new stomach and you may vomit. As far as I know the bariatric advantage the iron is separate, there is another company that everything comes in one chewable tablet if I'm not mistaken it's called bariatric fusion. -

I started taking a multivitamin 3-4 months prior to surgery and stop taking them a week before surgery. The bariatric advantage I started like a week after surgery. -
Advice, Please - Surgeon vs. NUT
omerbasa2807 replied to Mini_me007's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I would go with your NUT. I'm 6 weeks post-op and last time I saw my NUT she told me my protein intake for now it's ok between 50-60 but it'll increase as I progress. -
I'm just 6 weeks post-op, but things that are too sweet I cannot tolerate.

I haven't had any issues. My surgeon recommended me to start the iron at the 2.5- 3 weeks mark. -

Hello all, My name is Omar I'm 34, single. I was born in the Dominican Republic, but been in the US since I was 6 years old. I work in a dental office as a dental hygienist. I speak English, Spanish, French and Italian, on the last two not as fluent as I would like to be.

I am going to through the same thing. I started noticing that some days I was the usual me but others I was being very moody to point that would either get very upset very fast or just start crying for no apparent reason. I am glad to know that I'm not the only one having this issue, I thought I was going crazy.
