  1. I have Medicaid as insurance and from my understanding Medicaid does cover bariatric surgery and of course have guidelines. Have to have a BMI OF 40 or greater or 35 or higher with co-morbidities. Also, approval from your pcp. I know all this info but I'm just afraid of going through the process. I am right at 40BMI. If I lost any weight I would fall u dear the BMI, by one pound???? I don't have hypertension, diabetes, or sleep apnea (that I know of). Last year I did see a nutritionist but did not have follow ups. Has anyone went through the process with Medicaid???? What's it like??? I would appreciate any info.
