I think you're better off just going, informing the landlord of the before/after situation, and grabbing those few things you want. I hope you haven't tipped your hand telling him what you want, because he's being a petty jerk and will probably hide them on you. I'd just go in, grab your items, and get out ASAP. If you can get your hands on these items, you can be in and out in under 10 minutes.

My doc said if I gain ANYTHING from now until surgery (August) I'm cancelled. They weigh me in at everything -- even the freaking CPAP follow-up! I wasn't expecting that one and had just eaten lunch. I'd do liquids if you only have 5 days and lots of watermelon and foods that flush you out -- no salt!

Hello Out There August 2016 Sleevers!
Heather I replied to Sc7272's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm tentatively now scheduled 8/1! It's been a very long wait, but I think it's exciting my 6-month anniversary will be New Year's Day 2017! -
Lard makes amazingly flaky pie crusts, ahem, Memeire's tortiere doesn't lie. It's awesome!

High fibre post op - diverticulitis to consider
Heather I replied to manymules's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
My sister makes her own kefir, kinda like Irish soda bread -- you just need the starter and then can keep adding to it to make a new batch. Kefir is much more yogurt than milk tasting, to me, so that bodes well for you if you aren't into the milk thing. -
High fibre post op - diverticulitis to consider
Heather I replied to manymules's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
My husband got diverticulosis in 2012 and is diabetic, so all the vomiting (crazy! Like 24 hours nonstop where he couldn't catch a breath to puke again!) REALLY made an impact on us (could have stroked out with sugars all over the place). He needs to be on a low(er) carb diet due to diabetes and avoid sugars and carbs, but like you has to balance it all out. This is just HIS situation, FWIW, I went to the dietician with him (after he vomited a week almost a week nonstop and lost 30 lbs in a week! Seriously, he looked like the Auschwitz pics when he got home -- face totally sunken and shriveled.) Anyway, I digress, his dietician recommended kefir every day for the high probiotic count, Greek yogurt for yet more Probiotics, and she said they don't know WHAT causes diverticulitis/diverticulosis, that there was a study done on cadavers and, basically, everyone has the diverticula inherent in their body, but they don't know exactly what triggers some people to flare up and others to have no issues. My husband LOVES nuts and apples (fruit with skins,) and many other so-called no-nos. His dietician said she's a big believer in if it hurts/causes vomiting/cramping/diarrhea/etc., stop. She doesn't discount anecdotal evidence of people saying things like popcorn or nuts do them in, but she said give them a try slowly, one at a time, and see what causes problems. Well, like most guys, he didn't adjust his diet at all in terms of removing items, but he faithfully starts EVERY DAY with kefir and 2-4x a week has a really high quality Greek yogurt. It's been almost 4 years and he's had zero issues. So, again, I'm no dietician, but those were the guidelines given to him by his NUT who specializes in diabetes. Also, again, anecdotally, my brother-in-law is from Poland, where they eat tons of cabbage and pickled vegetables. Ever since coming to the States, my BIL has had TERRIBLE GI issues. My sister makes her own kefir and has started cooking the Old World way with all the cabbage/pickled food he is used to, and voila, his GI issues are GONE. Kimchee (sp?) is a pickled Korean cabbage, I believe, and it's getting tons of great buzz for GI digestion stuff, too. I cringe, but my old boyfriend loved the stuff. Again, maybe adding some of these probiotics will aid you? I forget who is on here is a vegetarian, maybe JamieLogical? But anyway, there's a couple vets who are vegetarians, and they are making the legumes work for them in terms of Protein. Maybe pick their brain, or start a vegetarian thread? Good luck! Hope your NUT gets back to you quicker. -
Does it always take 6 months to get a date?
Heather I replied to Tina4heath4ever's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
P.S. The ONLY bright side I see to waiting for 8/1 as a potential surgery date is that New Year's Day will be my 6-month anniversary, and I think that's a very cool date. I think starting 2017 off 60+lbs lighter will be AMAZING. That's me making lemonade out of lemons. I'm still a totally impatient Type A person who would have preferred a random day in March, LOL. -
Does it always take 6 months to get a date?
Heather I replied to Tina4heath4ever's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told 6 months, and I'm looking at 9! I did everything asked of me within 4 weeks; labs, sleep study, got CPAP machine, support group meetings, etc., but getting appointments with the NUT 3x, getting appointment with psych (2x cancelled last minute on me,) trying to meet surgeon (he cancelled last minute on me for emergency surgery,) honestly, it's taken SO long and it's SO annoying. I was hoping for March-June, have a tentative date (pending insurance approval -- that BCBS lost and wasted ANOTHER 3 weeks on in delays,) and now it looks like August 1st may be the date -- exactly when I didn't want it, but I'll suck it up and take it because I'm so ready to have it done. I see some people decide to do it, bang out everything within a month, and are approved and sleeved a week later! Amazing to me! I'm totally jealous. -

You look great! We're similar heights, and I was thinking 140-150 lbs was a goal, but it's nice to see kind of what that would look like on, you know? I can't imagine it right now, but I'm hoping to get where you are. Very good results! And I don't blame you or anyone else with a lower BMI -- I wish insurance would help more people nip obesity in the bud before you have to have major chronic ailments or busted joints from lugging around over 100 lbs of extra weight.

It does get better, I promise. Keep trying new styles of mask, but I think it takes 4 days to get properly used to it. Also, my CPAP rep gave me a TON of adjustment tips, and if you are monitored remotely, like me and several others on here, it only needs 4 hours in a 24-hour period. She told me to put it on while doing computer work at home or watching TV to get my hours in and get used to wearing it. If you can't necessarily "sleep" with it on, you'll at least meet the 4-hour minimum to get the surgery done:-) It does get better, I promise. I don't even know what to say. That's terrible. I'm so sorry this happened. He seriously started a hot and heavy affair around surgery 1.5 months ago and is already out the door? Where is his head at? I don't get it. What a jerk to throw away a family and improved life together. I'm very sorry.

Dreaming... about clothes
Heather I replied to becomingmandikaye's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just read a cool post from a former LB employee, and it struck me, what will I do when I have options -- real options -- beyond one store? I think I may lose my mind online shopping, scrolling through clothing. I can't wait! Teehee! -
Is there a ballpark of how much people lose on the pre-op liquid phase?
Heather I posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi! I have a tentative surgery date of 8/1 and 15 days pre-op on clear, SF liquids and Protein shakes, along with a measly bite of a vegetable or one small piece of fruit. I was just wondering if people have lost 10-20 lbs in the 2 weeks beforehand anything significant, or is it just like 5 lbs of Water weight? -
Is there a ballpark of how much people lose on the pre-op liquid phase?
Heather I replied to Heather I's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thank you everyone for your replies! I maybe should have clarified, LOL, yes, of course, I'm dying to lose weight in any way I can, whether it be pre or post-op, but I went through all my thinner clothes yesterday to take inventory (size 10-22!) and am trying to maybe get some smaller clothing for losing weight and taking advantage of end-of-summer sales. I was only thinking of losing weight post surgery, but then realized pre-op might be significant, too. No worries, I'm sure I'll be angry and crabby to the extreme liquids comes around, but I can't wait to start this new chapter in my life after surgery! -

Curvy girl clothing issues...HELP!

Kohls' brand pants are good, too, forget the name. Ann Taylor Loft used to have a special cut that flattered our pear shapes nicely, if you need dressy pants. -
Dreaming... about clothes

@@Megall9, me, too! I have tons of clothing in sizes 10-22, all sorted by size. I can't WAIT to purge as I move down sizes and ditch my ratty old coats. I love cleaning and organizing stuff, so anal-retentive purging for something fun like this is like Christmas to me! LOL. Soon enough you'll be shopping with your daughter for fun stuff! -
Dreaming... about clothes
Heather I replied to becomingmandikaye's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can't WAIT to go shopping! I just purged my bra/panties drawer and have a few new staples until surgery in August. After surgery though, I am dying to have a beautiful new lingerie drawer with pretty things. Shoes, too! I keep hearing feet change sizes as you lose weight, but there are some awesome Coach strappy ankle boots that are gorgeous I want, and sexy long length jeans -- oh, and sexy, cute workout gear! I got a random fitness clothes catalogue, MPG -- never heard of it, have no idea how I got on their mailing list, but CUTE workout gear! I want to be that hottie at the gym who kicks ass sweating in spin and pump class who has her act together in cute workout clothes! -
When Is Weight Loss Surgery the Wrong Choice?
Heather I replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I love Bariatric Pal, but the site continuously crashes on me! Ugh. I get a repost 2-4x because it reloads and refreshes. Anyway, it forces me to be brief! LOL. I think this girl was an emotional mess to begin with and age and surgery had nothing to do with her lifestyle choices and outcome. There are DEFINITELY mature young adults who have been burdened with obesity who can adopt a new lifestyle with help from WLS. This young lady has major issues to begin with. Losing weight and gaining male attention doesn't translate into crazy promiscuity, drug and alcohol abuse to excess, and other dangerous behavior for most WLS patients, no matter what the age. I think she has an addictive personality, and first it was food, then sex, then drugs and alcohol. I wouldn't be surprised if later there's kleptomania or hoarding, you know? Just moving down the line of obsessive, destructive behavior. I certainly hope the worst of her "obsessions" is working out and staying fit now, but WLS probably gave her the best shot at still being alive at the age she is at given her previous weight. She has been given many gifts; WLS, and then surviving a very dangerous lifestyle for several years. -

Only drinking protein shakes one month later!
Heather I replied to choicemun's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Dub, I was contemplating doing that for my first month, all shakes, but was concerned about getting enough nutrients. Frankly, the "mush" stage is totally unappealing to me. Blech. You had no adverse effects from doing just shakes and Vitamins? I don't want to sabotage anything, but even just the brainless aspect of Water and shakes only appeals to me; one less thing to think about during the day and gives me time to heal fully.
