Sleeve date tomorrow 12/07/15 anyone else?
Emilie.Lancaster replied to ladee2279's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Yes. Outpatient. How it is most often done at this practice. Most folks do fine, I couldn't get ahead of the pain, and I vomit with extreme pain, so you can see how that would spiral out of control quickly. Was a bit shocky, too. Not my finest hour.... -
Flinching awake.

I told a friend about this happening and she said it's called a Hypnic jerk or a Sleep Start. It's the pain killers, she says. The brain gets confused between processes and hits the reset. Huh. Interesting, but painful. It will stop with the drugs. -

I ended up in the ER the night of the surgery and admitted for two days. I couldn't get pain relief from the oxy+acet. I needed stronger narcotics. IV fluids, nausea, and pain meds helped. Home yesterday and slept away much of the day which became up all night which is working itself out today. The pain meds now are fine. Urine is a good color, so my hydration is okay. Got some liquid protein in me, but not enough. Walked a bit around the home depot and was naptastic after. Tomorrow promises to be better still. You? -
Tall Women, Tell Me Your Story!

Was sleeved 12/8. Just under 6', me. Heaviest weight was 293, dieted down to 190 at one point a few years ago. I was 251 on day of surgery. I have little in the way of goals. There is no magic number out there for me. I have clothes I want to wear again... I don't really know what is realistic for me. I think my immediate goal is to survive day to day and get my liquids to stay down painlessly. -
Tuesday morning, I had the sleeve done, and in short order the pain was ahead of me. I was discharged by 3, drugged to the gills, but couldn't stop vomiting. Pain hit the insanity level and doc said come back to the ER. The nausea and vomiting worried them, but the drink test shows no tear. Now, I am home, and I am not sure how I am doing. Had a little diarrhea, but no more heaves, and gassy and bloated... Soft bloated tummy, not hard. My 5 incision sites are in various states. Two look fine, on is very bruised, one is very red, the last is bruised and red. I wonder why I didn't get antibiotics? Did anyone else?

5 days Post op

I was sleeved on the 8th, I'm pleased that I got enough water in me today. I swallow way too much air. I have a lot of gas below, but with the watery stools, I can't trust a fart. Made a pudding hammock already, and that was embarrassing. But. I look at each sip as a victory. Tomorrow will be different. Count on it. -

Try warm water. Sleeve three days ago, and I figured out already that warm goes down easier. -
