Hi Everyone!
 
My name is Anghelys (Anj-el-ese), but I go by Angie. I am 23 years old and have struggled with my weight as a kid. I was most likely overweight from the age of 6, and was diagnosed with an overeating disorder since the age of 10. I started looking into WLS at the age of 17 when I had reached about 270 pounds. After being rejected between the ages of 19-21 due to age and insurance, I finally found a team that would change my life forever.
 
I had my surgery on April 8th, 2014 at age 21, that was the day that I received my second chance. My highest weight was 320 pounds, I am now almost two years post op weighing in between 140-145. I love to cook, and am always looking for alternatives to classic recipes such as deserts, comfort foods, and Latin-American food since I am a Latina. Everyday's a struggle, and I try and look at every day as a new one. No healthy life-style is perfect, it's all a matter of trial and error. 
 
I also want to mention that along with my health/weight struggle I've struggled with mental health as well. Although not everyone who is overweight goes through this, many people do. I've struggled with depression and anxiety, and still battle with them along with my over-eating disorder (more mentally than physically). This is my rollercoaster of a life, but it is beautiful none the less.
