My intention of this post is for positive feedback. It's not that I'm comparing myself to others, I'm reaching out for ideas that maybe I haven't thought of. I haven't been on this site for a while and now I remember why, because of all the critics and perfect people.

I've had so many mixed feelings and so many questions now that surgery is just a few days away. There are times when I'm alone and find myself thinking heavily about what I'm about to do and if I should move forward with it. Then, I look at the bigger picture and get emotional because this is not about myself alone, it's about my boys. They mean the world to me and I will do anything that I can to live to see them grow up, be successful and have a family. Then, I think about how i lost my father when I was 14 and he was only 43 year young, from health issues. I was devastated and I refuse to give up knowing that I giving up means that my children could be faced with the same thing. I encouraging myself and everyone else who is here, making a choice to have a healthier life. Best of luck to everyone!

My fellow January 13th sleevers, how did things go? Things went very well with my surgery and I was home the next day. Little to no pain and just trying to keep th gas away.. I would love to hear from everyone, to know that all is well.

I've been secretly crying. I think I'm driving my guy crazy. So I try not to talk to him about it anymore. Oh well, I have you all who are sharing the feelings and emotions with me. At least, someone understands.

Congratulations to you! In the beginning, I was so happy to have that surgery date. The liquids have been difficult for me and I almost gave up. I'm happy to be moving forward with surgery on Wednesday.

Thank you! I'm trying to stick to the plan but reality has set in.

Just 2 more days for me too. I took off work today and laid in bed till noon. My mom and one b of my sisters told me yesterday that they really don't want me to do this. I'm torn apart. I've lost 20 lbs in 2 weeks and they feel that I can do this without surgery. I had to remind them that I've been doing this liquid diet and starving to get to this. I'm so sad now and down. I am thankful for this group to be able to have support that's unjudged.

Mine is also the 13th I start my pre op diet this Wednesday. How are you holding up? That's great you lost 12 lbs I must admit that it's not easy. I try not to be around my family when they eat. I'll grab a popsicle and go in another room. A friend at work does it with me, I believe it's easier when I'm away from home or keeping myself busy. What about you?I agree with that. When your work it's much easier, I don't think about food, sometimes I even forget to have lunch because I'm so busy.. let's keep in touch.

I started pre-op dieting last Wednesday and I'm hungry too. Be strong!

I'm January 13th and before I prepare for my procedure I'll be praying for those who share this date with me. I'm having trouble with my better half all of a sudden. So I figured that some insecurities set in. But, we are moving forward and good luck with everything!

I have made that same realization myself and I am due to have surgery jan 22nd it is a struggle. Its tough when you realize how much of your day with family revolves around food, for me it is especially as a mother with three kids, all I do is cook lol and all they care about right now is "Where's dessert?!" "Can we stop by Dairy queen after practice?!" I just keep telling myself that this is a whack-load of stuff to get used to all at once and so much info out there and anyone would be overwhelmed tired and hungry. One foot in front of the other and you will feel better the closer you get. We can do this and I'd be willing to chat anytime you like:) maybe we can inspire one another.I'm with you both. I cannot begin to explain how I've been doing this 2 week pre-op with struggles. I'm ready for this and trying to keep my eyes on the prize.

Glad you're doing great. I have 10 days till surgery and I'm so freaking nervous.

Don't be discouraged. I was denied right after completing everything the insurance company wanted me to do. They forced me to have 2 additional nutrition visits and then gave me 30 days to have it done. My physician's office worked hard on my behalf and helped me get those appointments in. I'm now approved but my insurance now said I must get it done in this calendar year and they told me that only 2 weeks ago. I felt discouraged because my surgery date is January 13th. Just stay on track and don't worry too much. It will work out for you.
