Name of the protein shakes in glass bottles?
SkinnyWannaBee replied to SkinnyWannaBee's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Thanks for the replies. I finally found it and it is called Believe. Looks good but too $$, especially after you factor in the shipping costs ($5.a bottle). I'm just getting tired of GNC and Premier. I am now 3 mos out and I think I'll still need to have a shake a day for 2-3 more months in order to meet my protein goals. -
Name of the protein shakes in glass bottles?

Please help me find the name of the protein shakes I had located on line (and now can't remember the name). I recall they had something like latte or cappachino flavors. They were packaged in small glass bottles. -
Gastric Stricture Anyone
SkinnyWannaBee replied to SkinnyWannaBee's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Mokt I knew I had a structure since about week 2 and it continued to be an issue. By the time I was vimiting daily I decided to take matters into my own hands and have a GI guy take a look week 11 (my surgeon said it wld "go away"). Symptoms included feeling like the food got stuck at the back of your throat and vomiting after only 1-2 T dense solids. I never seemed to get my calories above 500 despite the fact that I would be either eating or drinking all day (volume was not my friend). Unfortunately many patients require redilation 2-3 times but it is a pretty simple outpatient procedure (you are sedated). So I am 1 wk post dilation and I have not vomited but I still very quickly get full in the dense foods (1-2 oz). Fluids, cheese, yogurt are much easier to consume. Good luck at your appt today! -
I am 12 wks post surgery and finally had an EGD to dilate a structure (narrowing). While I find I can now eat 1-2 oz of denser food (meat, tuna) it is still very difficult. I am now able to consume almost 800 calories/65g protein a day without vomiting. Starting 275. Surgery 260. Now 220. I get concerned that I will never be able to eat "normally" and spend the rest of my life drinking these protein shakes to meet my goals. Help ://

Gastric Stricture Anyone
SkinnyWannaBee replied to SkinnyWannaBee's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thank you Kathy for your reply. Yes the weight loss to date has certainly been the biggest incentive to continuing this health journey. I guess I was hoping for one of those "no problems" stories. I have to believe that this is just a bump in the road and that a few months from now my food intake will not be the concern that it is today. For now.....I will continue to reach my 60g protein/64oz Flds and gym 5 days a week goals. But I definitely look forward to the day that doesn't start with a protein shake!! -

@@SkinnyWannaBee congrats on loosing 15 lbs pre-op!! 40 lbs after surgery!! 55 lbs total weight loss is exciting!! i am NOT in the medical field but i AM a smart cookie!! LOL it will take time for your new little tummy to settle down/heal since you just had the EGD maybe like you are just starting over as if you were sleeved yesterday you are now able to eat a little more food after a while your eating will move forward eat different things hopefully things will continue to improve your new "normal" will be regular "good healthy, nutritious foods you will have variety not shakes only for the rest of your life feel better sooner than later good luck kathy http://www.bariatricpal.com/forum/429-gastric-sleeve-surgery-complications-support-group/ -
I found myself vomiting after any dense food with volume (like more than 2 shrimp or more than 2T tuna salad) until I had an EGD with dilation for a structure at 11 weeks. I am now 12 wks out and while I still could not consume more than 1-2 ozs I am no longer vomiting. It is just a slower progression for me. I knew something was wrong at 2 wks when I was having difficulty trying to keep soft foods down past 1 T. It has been very trying and I look forward to the day I can consume enough protein and fluids so that I am not sick to my stomach and I can stop these protein shakes!

You deserve this at any stage. I am post-op day 2 and feel pretty good. Difficult to get my fluids in but the actual surgery went just fine. Good luck!
