Starting a thread about hair growing back!
SusanB55 replied to nomorechubbybutt63's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Most of the time it's barely noticeable to anyone else but us. Really?? Oh thank you!! I have super thick hair too so that should help! One thing tho, I will be going to my hair stylist as last minute as possible before the wedding for my usual highlights, which is very hard on hair anyway. I've never had any problems with it in the past but do you think this will pose even more hair loss for me? -

Ok this scares the s*$t out of me. I'm one week post op and my daughter's wedding is the end of August. Should I start looking for a wig now? -
What reasons did they offer? Who even does nighttime elective surgeries?

Seriously?????? That is an awful delay! Yet another delay too. I'm so sorry.

Tingling toes, weird sensations one week out from surgery
SusanB55 replied to SusanB55's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you! I considered carb withdrawal which may be why I get shaky hands quite often. I read somewhere that this might be a deficiency. I'll ask the doc tomorrow at my post op. -
Tingling toes, weird sensations one week out from surgery
SusanB55 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi everyone. I was sleeved one week ago today. Yesterday was a strange day. I awoke feeling super weak but knew that wasn't uncommon so wasn't concerned. By early evening, my toes were tingling and as I walked around the house, it felt like I wasn't making full contact with the ground, like I was stepping on something real airy. Hard to describe and is a very strange feeling. As a result of being constipated, I took laxatives which went into full effect late last night and of course, you know the results of laxatives is always diarrhea or close to it. I'm feeling the same today. I've had no problems meeting my Water and Protein goals, take the 2 Bariatric Advantage chewables as directed, so I don't what the heck this is. I have contacted my surgeon's office, but I just am wondering if anybody else has experienced this? Thank you -
I'm scheduled for a band to sleeve revision for May 11, and boy am I a nervous wreck! Seriously. Everything I am thinking, feeling, saying, is all 'normal' according to all the posts, but it still doesn't make me feel any less anxious. I've had to take more ativan than normal just to keep my heart from jumping out of my chest, lol. Uggggggggh! I'm praying that my surgeon will remove the band AND sleeve me in the same surgery, but he won't guarantee it until he gets in there and assesses the scar tissue. OMG, I can't even imagine going through this a second time, not to mention the MONEY involved. On top of my surgery date, my dear husband is getting sleeved tomorrow morning! I feel like throwing up, lol. Prayers welcomed!

@@NoMoBand Hi Jake! He is down 17 lbs since his surgery on may 2! He is doing well with meeting his protein and water requirements. He is doing well with soft foods and I am longing to be on them as well. One more day for me☺ -

Federal Blue cross patients

Maybe 4 business days. But from what I am seeing, I think BCBS of AZ (Fed group tho) is exemplary and may be the exception to the rule. -

I'm so grateful my surgeon doesn't believe in pre-op diets, lol. But yes, I was very relieved to have a 730 AM case, so I understand why you are so upset. I was a wreck for about a week prior and the night before I was at the point of acceptance of it. Still scared, still unsure of what was to come, but at least accepted it. I'll be praying for you

Yes, call! They will tell you. My husband was approved in 1 day, but the letter didn't come saying so for 3 more days! Mine took a couple days and letter followed, but I still called -

Seriously??? OMG, that's utterly ridiculous! I called several times to BCBS AZ (Fed plan) and was treated so well and all my questions were answered. Yes, they had their requirements and the surgeon had his, but they should still quote benefits. I did medical billing for 13 years and this is the norm! -

@@Laura Lopez I've never heard of that insurance but even more importantly, I've never heard of an insurance company NOT giving you your benefits. I would call them back and ask for the supervisor. If she tells you the same thing, ask who CAN give you the benefits. Something doesn't smell right! -

Six days out now. It was rough! Had a hiatal hernia again too, so post op pain was very bad. Spent 2 nights in the hospital but at least I can say I am sleeved Thank you Jesus! -

Pffffft. What insurance do you have? Call the insurance yourself and/or look it up in your benefits book. The insurance staff at my office messed up on my husbands appts so I had to raise a stink about it. Ended up we submitted his case with only 2 NUT appts instead of 3 required.
