Pairadice commented on saffron280's blog entry in My New Thinner Healthier Life
Wish you all the best! If you ever want to chat I'll be around. (9 weeks post-op-gastric bypass.) -
Yes, everything you described is normal. But if I were you don't set such large goals with the treadmill, just baby steps. Start with 3 minutes, and go for 3 days, then 5 minutes and go for 5 days. Then maybe do this twice a day... I know you can do it...!!! you now have the power and the tools to be successful. I'm inspired now to go use my weights...lol

Lots of hopes and prayers your way. Appeals usually go well. I am in the medical field. So No Luck needed but the prayers won't hurt. Keep us posted regarding your upcoming surgery!!! I am new here myself and just 7 weeks post op...No regrets...I will say that this journey is empowering. The surgery is a great tool and it keeps you in check with portion sizes and types of food choices. This is the first time that I really feel in control and the results are uplifting. Keep in touch. Best wishes, Laurie

I feel the exact same way..post op November 2, 2015, Gastric Bypass. So what to do??? I talked with the doctors office who put me in contact with the nutritionist and she basically gave me a pep talk and said get it together...lol Yep...that's what I wanted to hear.. I consider myself to be and intelligent person most of the time...LOL What I do know is their is a standard that the doctors want us all to follow, so many oz.'s of liquids and specific dietary needs. They have to push these things so they don't get in trouble when we get dehydrated and end up in the hospital, they can always say well, I told her to drink more...lol Well, I can tell you that I have no energy, I'm almost afraid to go for a walk for fear I'll fall on my face. I'm depressed too, BUT would I change my decision about the surgery...NO - I do want a better life, I want to live without the struggles that go along with obesity. And I know you know what I'm talking about. I know or should I say I have been told that it will get better...LOL ...WHEN!! Find strength in knowing your not alone and it really will get better. Y'all come back now. -
Hello Jessicalee196, Ok Pitty party is over kid...this is your journey, your decision, your health, your life. I believe when I made up my mind to do this for myself everything else was easy. Here's the thing...I can only tell you that no matter what you decide what to do with your life if it's taking a new job, starting a new diet, or jumping off the deep end, someone near and dear to you will have to put in their own two cents. Do what makes you happy, stare the junk food down and overcome. When you find that strength it is so empowering. You will be able to say to the boyfriend, (that's ok honey, if you want pizza you can have pizza, or a burger or what ever) but you can remind him that you want him to be healthy too. Maybe teach him how to make healthier choices. After the surgery I had (gastric bypass) you quickly learn their is no turning back. It is scary but at the same time exciting. Their is a new saying it says 'Lean Inn' get ready for all that is in front of you, if the relationship is meant to last the test of time it will, if not get ready for a new beginning. Be ready to take control, no excuses like the boyfriend made you eat something bad. Your giving up your power. I know that your afraid, but you don't have to be. (you got me Stay Kool...
