    So confused!!!!

I guess its information overload then...overall I still like the idea of the band over the RNY, but I go back and forth. Thanks for your input!
  3. Hello! I'm a newbie here and I am so confused! I've been researching the WLS options and there are pros and cons to all of them and I just don't know what to think. It seems that with the complications possible, that is easier to just be as I am now...uncut and unbanded (tho I know I can't go it alone in this battle). The lap band has its problems such as food blockage, band erosion, band slippage, reflux, gall stones... eeeeeeeeeeeek! The RNY has its problems too such as infection, staple rupture and non healing, dumping, gall stones...eeeeeeeeeeeeeek! Banding was my fave because its less invasive to the body, easier to recover from, and if there are problems then it can be removed. But what are the chances of these happening? It seems kinda often to me and that's frightning. How does it do long term...as in 20 years from now? How often does it need to be replaced? What if there are problems and I'm uninsured? eeeeeeeeeeek! I just don't know what to think, is it because I'm on information overload? My info session is on the 26th and I'm researching the options before even seeing a doctor so I know what it is that I want and why I want it. Did anyone else go through this? What pre op tests did you have to do? Thanks!:myscared:
