Everything tastes gross!

I agree with breezy. I had 2 wks of liquids, 2 weeks of pureed and then 2 wks of "soft" foods ongoing until I hit my six month post-op date. Pureed was extremely difficult for me b/c I couldnt find but a few things that would stay down. I couldnt stand the smell of things and had nausea daily. Your pouch is so new a week out, ask your doctor if you can give it more time to adjust to taking in fluids. I'm 4 months out and still incorporate protein drinks and bars into my food intake. Ive found watering down the shakes make them last longer, easier to go down, dont sit in my stomach and I get in some water. Good luck in feeling better!! -

Merry Christmas to Me!

I loved liquids stage!!! Hated pureed. Everything smelled bad to me, icky texture, got sick a few times and was so fatigued I had to nap everyday and go to bed early. I didnt want to eat at all b/c I could feel every bit go down. I hated the sensation of it. Liquids were a breeze and still use protein shakes at least once a day. I talked to my nurse and just concentrated on getting down foods best i could. Didnt worry about protein powder. Im now on soft foods and eating is so much better. I still dont really enjoy it but there are more choices. Everyday gets better and easier and I can make peace with this new way. I have mad support from my parents and mom made crockpot chicken for xmas dinner and sugar free pudding parfaits with sugar free strawberry wafer cookies. And an egg/cheese/mushroom casserole for breakfast. All of it was really good. It can be done!!!! I love being on here. Congrats to all of you! -
It may be some rough weeks through stage two so vent to us anytime. Its a journey of ups and downs for sure but youre gonna make it no matter what! Thats what you can focus on. Im 2 months and 2 wks out, down 58 pds and everyday I thank myself for loving me enough to take this monster step. For me. For my life. For my future. Welcome to this community! Blessings and Happy New You in 2016!!! Lets rock n' roll!!!

I stopped going a lot of places in the past year or so b/c I cant fit in a lot of the chairs....outdoor patios, stadiums, nail salons, hair salons, booths, conference rooms, airplanes and even my own doctors office. Just about any chair with arms....yup, Im looking so forward to participating in life again. Its just those simple things noone but us could understand. -

I am happy for you and the inner strength you've got to have to take on this process. Im 4 wks out just about and what a mental/ emotional whirlwind it's been. I found this app and finally don't feel alone in this. You've got this!!! -

Cervidae, I envy you!!!!! How long has it taken you to lose the weight? Thats what I need to lose before I can reassess if I'm content or want to lose more. What kind of strategies did you use? I was sleeved on 11/11/15 and stopped losing as soon as I started on pureed foods. I know I have my first year to lose as mich as I can and I'm curious how to maximize my results. I've done everything Ive been told to do and am walking up to 2 miles so far. I see the dr this week and hope to get cleared for the gym and pool. Congrats to you and thank you for sharing!!! -

I've read a lot of posts on here and I can honestly say I have not strayed from my post op diet at all. I fight every urge, craving, past time etc b/c I have one chance to do this right and get the most out of it. You're right. All the things I'm looking forward to again will be worth the wait and give me a greater appreciation for food instead of overindulging in it. Patience, grasshopper!

Im at the beginning of my wls journey but i noticed i keep pulling my seatbelt all the way and across me to buckle it. I dont need to pull it out that far anymore ???? life is good. -
My friend told me about the card for kids meals but I didn't get one as of yet. Im going to ask when I see him this Thursday. I'll let you know what he says.

I love pickles too and stare at the jar in my fridge daily thinking I can't wait to have them again. I have another week before Im on soft foods and I almost gave in last night. I've also craved some green olives. Why do we have to wait so long to have raw fruits and veggies? The acid or sugar in them??

My BMI was 56% before surgery. Got sleeved on 11/11/15. I can already tell I'm gonna end up an A cup at the end of this and for the most part am making peace with it. I've been a B cup and always felt that was okay for my size/height. I just can't wait to buy regular bras from any store. First stop, Victoria Secret, you know it!!!

I'm 5'1 and have the same thoughts!! My dr. hasnt asked me to set a definite goal weight. I honestly don't want to. I have an idea of a number but it depends how I feel when I get there. I do know this. My sister is 5'0 and lost about 120 pds on her own. She now weighs 101 and she looks perfectly petite and healthy. It seems outrageous to us but who knows. It may be very possible for us shorties to do well at that weight. I'm more worried about my skin. If I got down to 120, I'd have a 184 weight loss....Im 38 and people keep saying Im young enough my skin will tighten up etc but I'm not so confident. I think it's a huge motivator for me to keep walking and kill it once Im allowed to workout in the gym. I used to have great biceps but triceps are so hard to build up. I'm already getting bat wings from my weight loss. I'm glad you posted as a short sleever. I'll be checking back with you guys!

I am sincerely happy for you! I'm down almost 50 pds from my HW and down almost 2 full sizes from a 26/28 to almost a 24. I just noticed the sides of my bras don't roll up or squish together anymore. It's a beautiful, fulfilling moment and one of many to come. Congratulations!
