    December 14th Sleevers

Two month check in: down 50 lbs!!
  2. I had my sleeve done on the 14th of December. Doc says I still can't work out because it's a struggle to hydrate right now without the exercise. I'll be happy when I can again. Everything has gone well which is a blessing. I'm on mushy foods right now, but try a bite of regular food every now and again. Some goes down easy and other times it hurts like crazy. Dr said my stomach will let me know when it's healed. I'm currently down 36.4lbs, 18 of which were lost pre-op. I go days without any loss and then mornings like this, I wake up and have lost a pound. My dr said if I find myself at a stand still, lay off the Protein shakes.
  3. I had that issue with steri strips when I had my gall bladder removed. Nurse said I was allergic to adhesive, so I make sure to tell them now not to use them.

    December 14th Sleevers

Ok check in time! How is everyone doing? Im slowly incorporating some normal food in from the soft phase. I'm down 36lbs and 16inches!
  5. . I hit a plateau two weeks after surgery. I stuck with it and had less protein shakes and more actual food and now the pounds are rolling off.

    One Week Out!

Calories aren't an issue right now. Just focus on getting plenty of fluids and protein. #1 is fluids because it's easy to get dehydrated.

    December 14th Sleevers

My dr insists on liquids for 3 weeks after surgery. Today was hard with everyone eating yummy Christmas dinner. I will say I snuck a nibble of stuffing. Looking forward to purées!

    Merry Christmas

I'm two weeks post op and my dr has me on liquids for 3 weeks, so I envy your ability to have purées. ????
  9. I was sleeved on December 14th which was only a week and a half ago. I lost 18 lbs before surgery and for some reason the weight loss has come almost to a screeching halt since then. Everyone says the biggest loss comes in the months right after surgery. I've been stuck with no loss for almost a week! I know stalls will happen, but already?!?

    Already?!?

My doctor's instructions are to weigh daily. I'll switch to not so frequent.

    One Week Out!

I was also sleeved on the 14th! I'm just sipping all day and trying not to focus so much on the specific numbers. An ounce or 2 of unsweetened apple juice really helps me every day. Miso soup seems to be my favorite so far. I'm looking forward to trying purées.
  12. I explained to her that she is not privy to my medical concerns that made the surgery necessary as soon as possible. I also helped her understand some of the things about it that are not what she thought. I don't think I made her a believer, but maybe she'll think twice before judging the next person in my shoes.
  13. I only told a select few and yesterday affirmed why. I was at church and someone noticed the huge bruise on my arm where my IV blew out. She asked if I was ok and I told her I just had a medical procedure done. She smarted off that she hopes it wasn't a stupid weight loss surgery. I didn't tell people because I didn't care to hear their opinion on what I was doing to my body. Guys seem to be more apt to put it out there, but then again men aren't caddy like women.

    Post op day 4

I'm 5 days post op and my doc says no jello for 3 weeks. It's best if you ask your doctor.

    Everything is disguting

I had surgery on the same day as you. I was struggling to get anything down until I decided the on Wednesday to stop pain meds. I still can't do broth, but miso soup and straining other soups seems to be the trick for me.
  17. My dr said to weigh daily so I can have the affirmation that it's working. It also tells me what works well for weight loss and what does not. If I'm not weighing daily then I don't know. I had surgery on Monday of this week and I'm already down 25 lbs. I don't feel skinnier yet, but I can say one of my chins has diminished.
  18. So I had surgery 5 days ago and was on an all liquids diet before my surgery. Liquids only can become very boring and exhausting. A few things that keep me from going crazy are Miso Soup strained and no sugar added apple juice. It gives me some flavor changes between the protein shakes I have to drink. What are some liquids that help you make it through this phase?
  19. I had surgery 5 days ago and have the same issue. I think mine is from swallowing air. I'm trying different ways of swallowing to prevent the issue. We have to figure out our new normal.
  20. Miso soup has been great for me. I'm excited to have avocado with sour cream next week!
  21. I was sleeved on 12/14 and vomited right after surgery and right after going home. What helped me to stop was no more pain meds. They made me sick. Yes I'm sore, but it's not as bad as vomiting hurts, so I'm toughing it out. My surgery was 5 days ago and I feel great! I'm already 24 lbs down!!

    Paying out of pocket

I went to my initial consult two weeks ago and my surgery is tomorrow. They were willing to do it the following week if I was willing to go liquids that day.
  23. I'm going in on Monday for my sleeve surgery and a little nervous because it's an outpatient facility. They said I'll stay overnight for a total of 23 hours. Everyone else I talk to and read about stay 2 nights. How did your experience there go?
  24. . Even better! I can't ever keep barium down.
