  1. I'm the opposite and am deathly afraid of wrinkles. You could find the best cosmetic dermatologist in your town and address it with them. A good derm will be able to help you come up with a proper skincare regimen, potentially prescribe prescription strength retinols, and discuss the possible use of injectables and fillers to even out your wrinkles. Fillers and other injectables are so excellent these days that the traditional facelift will be obsolete in a decade.

    How much time off work

I had surgery on a Thursday and was in the office Tuesday. Easily could have gone in Monday. But everyone is different - it depends on what kind of work you do, your state of health before surgery, many factors.

Really, that depends on what you're seeking!

    Food Protein

Hi I'm just about week 4 and even though I have no trouble with food so far, I don't have the time to constantly eat 2 oz portions in order to get enough Protein. So I am doing my best with food and then supplementing with shakes. Most days I have a greek yogurt or cottage cheese, turkey slices rolled up in provolone, chicken breast or tuna fish. If I go out to a restaurant I order fish or some other soft meat, like a pulled pork or chicken or I have sashimi. I snack on babybel or other types of cheese. I honestly haven't tried veggies yet, mostly because I haven't had room after getting in my protein.

    Sleep

You can ask your doctor about medication that will you help fall and/or stay asleep. Or ask if you can try melatonin. I used to take rx sleep aids, but I didn't love the way they worked so now I use liquid melatonin most nights and it puts me into sleep mode. I'll occasionally use the OTC antihistamines if I need something stronger.

    GAS!

I didn't have a gas issue post-op, but one thing my surgeon recommended in addition to walking was getting a back rub.

    Sleeping Method

I slept on my back in bed, but I put a row of pillows on my side to kind of stop me from rolling over in the night. After about 2 days I was fine to sleep on my side.

    Infidelity (long)

I wouldn't chalk his behavior up to your weight honey. He was a young guy actively seeking a relationship with a married woman - if he was looking for something serious and long term to be devoted to he wouldn't have proceeded with a MARRIED woman. Plus, he was clearly attracted to you as you were. There are definitely guys out there who chubby chase in secret, they go after the big girls but have the skinny wife at home. That behavior is messed up - but that doesn't sound like it was the case in your situation at all. It sounds like you had a fun, frisky, thrilling affair until it wasn't fun anymore. Just try to remember the good stuff when you need a turn on and leave it at that.

    Raw Oysters & Sashimi

I had a great experience eating sashimi at 2 1/2 weeks post op, which is when it was allowed by my plan. Great source of lean protein!
  12. It really depends on the plan provided to you by your surgical team and nutritionist. I'm almost 4 weeks post-op. At the 3 week mark I was starting soft foods - well chewed meat and fish mostly since I am focusing on Protein. Soft or macerated fruit is allowed at 3 weeks on my plan. Protein Bars and salads aren't to be introduced until a month post-op.
  13. Full liquids for 10 days beginning the day after surgery then on to purees.
  14. Time to buy new underthings!

    Caffeine

I wasn't allowed to have caffeine during my 5 day liquid pre-op diet and for 2 weeks after surgery.
  16. @@Lema you're so right! i like chocolate Protein powder.
  17. I have a lot of old clothes I can use as I work my way down in sizes. The items I got are my ultimate goal clothes. I didn't buy a lot. Mostly tops and dresses (that I can easily alter if needed), I've fluctuated so much in weight in my 31 years that I have clothes ranging from size 20 down to 10. Ha, yeah I am the same way. I have size 4-18 in my closet. I went through and donated anything I didn't think I would like and set aside a few beautiful pieces as goal clothes. I'm already down to a 12-14. But all the cute clothes are size 8 and down. A lot of the best brands don't make clothes bigger than that. Chanel does and some of the Italian brands do. I am going to buy myself the most gorgeous exquisite pieces when I am at goal.....I am mostly thinking about coats. I want a leather trench coat so badly.
  18. I think this could end up being a waste of money based on a lot of what I've read here. Do you have any old clothes in your closet that are too small for you now? Maybe pull those out and look forward to them. I know I have a ton. I'm 3 weeks out and have changed sizes slightly in clothes, but mostly things just fit better now. One thing I do need ASAP is new bras and shapewear. Which is kind of fun!
  19. Oh ok I get it!I am still too early post-op (3.5 weeks) to even think about trying any food that I overindulged in pre-op. Also was diagnosed celiac at the same time so my list would have included pizza, Pasta, but I can't ever have them again bc of the wheat. So I'm not sure what would make my list at this point. Oh I know- chocolate!
  20. @@Lema why won't you touch them?

I haven't experienced this yet- 3 and a half weeks out. Not holding my breath !
  23. Hi guys! I'm just checking in. I had surgery on 7/7 and am feeling the best I have felt in the last couple of years. The weight is coming off, I'm getting nice bursts of energy and my skin is glowing. I'm on soft foods and am supposed to try "regular" foods this week. Not sure what I'll end up trying for regular first. I've been eating mostly dairy, cheese, yogurt, cottage cheese, but have tried all kinds of fish, chicken breast, veal, cheeseburger and no problems so far. I just feel full right around the 2 oz in supposed to eat on my plan. I was off shakes for a few days while traveling but am now going back on as its really hard to get enough protein from food alone in such small amounts. Best wishes to all the other July sleevers!

    Food allergies

Ah thank you @@KristenLe ! I am stil so new at the celiac thing (and the sleeve thing) that I didn't think to check Vitamins. I just did and they are all good. I see you are a fellow shellfish allergy sufferer....I wish I could eat shellfish as well. Looks delicious and like a great healthy source of Protein.
