    Two week post op food

    Pureed and soft foods.
  2. No, I agree we all have the right to post our opinions. No problem there. We are just missing a LOT of info from this person in my opinion.

    I made a mistake.

So glad to hear everything went great! I screwed up on my pre-op diet and cheated twice. Once with caviar and another time with a little sashimi. I was nervous, but addressed it with my surgeon and my surgery went fine as well.

    NSV shout outs

Oh god, a month out tomorrow and I already have had so many thrilling NSV's: - I'm not constantly overheated so I'm using the A/C less at home and will save $$$ - saving $$$ on food - people keep telling me I look "Rested" "Rejuvenated" or that I'm "glowing." A close friend told me I seemed "the best I've been in awhile." - I moved to to a tighter hook on my bras - I can walk up the hill on my way home from work without needing to catch my breath - In fact I am already walking faster and longer than I have in the last 2 years

How soon did you go back to work?

I had surgery on a Thursday and was in the office by Tuesday. But it depends on so many things. For me, I was young and relatively healthy pre-op, my surgery went well and I had no trouble getting in my liquids and Protein immediately after surgery. I do a mix of desk and fieldwork. I was out in the field, in a foreign country 2 and a half weeks after surgery and was fine. But lots of people here have had different experiences.

    Big NSV Today!

    awesome nsv!
  7. I don't think YOUR goal weight has anything to do with whether or not this person needed the surgery. There are tons of other factors you know nothing about that could be at play here. A BMI over 30 is still obese.
  8. 5.5 lbs in 5 days is actually pretty rapid weight loss. Not to mention most people have a temporary gain from the IV fluids. Not sure what to tell you on whether or not you needed surgery, that depends on so many personal things I have no idea about. But you're losing weight about as fast as you possible can so stop trippin' on that.

    Fashion advice

Maybe a little petty....but totally human! And relatable. How are you going to do your hair? Are you a brunette? This is fun...we should have more fashion threads.

Silver shoes would look nice and they go with everything so it's good investment. There is an incredible leg product and it's astoundingly cheap. The Sally Hansen spray on pantyhose. I have fair skin and use the light glow shade. I never in my LIFE thought I would be in love with a drugstore spray on product because I am a total snob, but it is a holy grail. It makes your legs so smooth and even. Just be careful to apply it (although it is way easier to apply than self tanner. It does shade you though, so make sure you blend it through to your feet. If I'm wearing sandals I just put it all over the top and back of my feet as well. I have so many friends who use it. It's mind blowing.
  13. @@MissKay not uhhhhh to hijack the thread or anything but a taco shell made out of CHEESE? Where did you get that? I need to know!
  14. @@Bee healthy I'm averaging 7-800 calories/day. 60-80 grams of protein and under 30 carbs. What regular foods did you try? I've been sticking with deli turkey because I had it in the house. Amazing how little money I spend on food now!
  15. I've lost the same amount of weight since my 5 day pre-op diet and had surgery a day after you. Personally, I think I'm killin' the weight loss game and you should too. It's a lot of weight in not a lot of time!

I usually put it on the table because my clutches are always so special and beautiful that everyone likes to look at them. I know it sounds like I'm kidding but I'm kind of not. It can go in your lap.
  18. I don't think I felt any restriction on purees to be honest. I was allowed to have well chewed soft food as part of my purees though, so maybe a little bit with something like tuna fish. I feel it now on the full soft food phase with stuff like grilled chicken and ground meat.

I like clutches the best for special occasions and formal events. You can buy one in a neutral metallic shade (gold, silver, gunmetal, copper) and it will go with everything. A clutch is also a great way to add a pop of color. A red clutch with a navy dress? So cute. Add red lipstick and you have a whole look. At your young age I would avoid the kind of matronly chain strap beaded clutches that you can find at all the dress shops and look for something a little bit more funky! There are clutches that look like kisses, books, or have fun sayings on them. You can do something in a hard box shape. I love love love lucite clutches. Also think about how your manicure, bracelets, and rings will look against your clutch! I can post some pictures if that helps.
  20. I didn't really have any pain. The worst it ever got was a 1-2 on the pain scale when I got in and out of bed or up from sitting. More like a pulled muscle than anything especially painful.
  21. For the meals I prepare at home I use a food scale to weigh out 2 oz portions. On purees it's really hard to know when to stop because they may not fill you up, so the food scale is clutch.
  22. Actually when I was on Weight Watchers years ago, not drinking with your meal was one of the rules. So I think it is out there.
  23. @@JennyJennJen my surgeon allows carbonation at 2 weeks post op. I can't drink beer bc of celiac and I don't like soda but I have tried seltzer post-op and enjoyed it enormously. Wow!

    Help !

My pureed/soft food stage was basically the same thing- but I would double check how much you're eating to satisfaction. Do you have a food scale? Did your doctor recommend a specific amount of food to eat? Mine recommended 2 oz and sometimes that's satisfying, sometimes I could eat more. But I stick to the 2 oz whenever I can because doctors orders.
  25. I was a major water drinker as well. I'm just about a month post op now. It didn't matter so much during the puree stage, but now that I've moved on to dense protein it is actually uncomfortable to drink water after eating, sometimes even an hour or 90 minutes after! So I have to rethink my eating/drinking schedule to make sure I get enough water in. I do believe it gets easier as more time passes.
