Exercise is good for my mental health, more than anything else.

My surgeon required an upper endoscopy both for the imagery and pathology it provided as well as the h pylori test. I also did a breath test for h pylori. FWIW - my endoscopy revealed I had celiac disease, an autoimmune disorder that I'm now treating while recovering from sleeve surgery. So the endoscopy was hugely important to me.

I live alone and I'm spending wayyyyyyyyy less money than I used to. Also, the food delivery app I used to use like 5x/week sends me emails telling me they miss me as a customer - NSV!

I was actually looking back at my paperwork from my nutritionist this morning and it states "No drinking for an HOUR before eating and no drinking for an HOUR after eating." No drinking WHILE eating either. She also says to eat 5 small meals a day. So that's 5 meals, each bookended with a 2 hour window - 10 hours a day of not drinking Water. I honestly decided upon meeting her months ago that my nutritionist was kind of dumb, but now I'm sure of it. My SURGEON, who disagrees with his nutritionist on several points, says no drinking for 30 min AFTER eating, no drinking WHILE eating. Which is much more doable. I've been following his rules instead of hers. Frankly, I've had a few instances where drinking too soon after eating has made me a bit uncomfortable so I'm careful afterwards, but I'm trying to get in all my water and I would be totally screwed on that if I was spending 10 hours a day parched.

Bored with Breakfast! Any dieticians out there?

I'm the shakshuka queen - I make it on the grill when I'm at the beach. It is seriously the most delicious dish in my opinion. -
I tried it this past weekend at 5 weeks post - op. My plan allows salad after a month. I had some black kale and parmesan salad at one of my favorite restaurants after getting some Protein in with grilled octopus. I was scared it would cause issues because so many people have problems with lettuce and salad but it went down fine and was crazy delicious. This was a late dinner - around 10:30 pm and the octopus was my final needed protein for a day so I still had enough room for the kale. That's another reason I hadn't tried it yet, not sure when I will have room for salad again.

I'm just saving for plastic surgery - I'm assuming I'll need at least a full tummy tuck and some work done on my boobs. It's a good reward to work towards. The sleeve ended up costing me almost nothing thanks to my insurance, so I'm using some money I set aside for that to freeze my eggs this year and the rest goes into the plastic surgery fund. It's a long way off for me, but I'm looking forward to it !

I'm all for not telling at the early stage of a relationship. Just my personal opinion. I went on a date to a baseball game last week and it was so easy. No talk of food.
-
Can you suggest a date that doesn't involve sitting down to eat? Like an activity? More fun anyway.

I can't wait until I can sprint for the gate without getting so out of breath I feel like I'm gonna die. Since I am ALWAYS cutting it too close.

What's your skinny margarita recipe @@Dub ? I nailed down a perfect recipe but haven't indulged since about a month pre-op. Not sure it qualifies as skinny though, since it has an oz of freshly squeezed lime juice per cocktail. I rim the glass with lime zest and salt.

Also, PSA: My Fitness Pal has an erroneous entry for my preferred brand of tequila (Espolon) that says it has 15 g of protein for serving. Don't input that....it's wrong. Tequila is not a protein rich food, no matter what your computer tells you.

You? I love. Interesting! I'm undecided on you ????

Ok so how bad is this gonna hurt?

For me, I felt like I had overdone it on an abdominal workout for about 3 days post op. Especially as I got up and down from sitting or laying in bed. That was the worst of it. -
CALLING ALL JULY 2016 SLEEVERS
higher replied to Tresa Embil's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not sure when I last posted here. I'm down 29 lbs at 5 weeks post op. My number one thing right now is planning, planning, planning. Planning is the master key to getting in all your protein and fluids and keep up with a busy day. Pack cheese and yogurt even if you don't think you'll need it. It's saved me! Also, everyone notices my weight loss. Most people tell me I look younger, and that my skin is glowing. Best decision ever. -
I'm compelled to share my individual experience for a couple of reasons. 1- because I'm incredibly self-absorbed and love talking about myself and 2- because you guys are the only people who know I've had surgery besides my medical team. I'm following my surgeons plan, and if I'm curious as to why his plan differs from someone else's on the board in a way that I think would benefit me I ask him about it. My experiences are not your validation to cheat on your plan. Don't make me not want to talk about myself. My ego will suffer.
