  1. Hello all! Just a quick question.. How soon after post op was it good for you all to try some beef jerky? Phase 3/4 or later? Been craving the taste but can wait it doesn't say anything about it in my packet..

    Venue Selection

I had my surgery 2 weeks ago in Tijuana. The process was quick, I had the money and what took longest for me was the research. The overall booking and process with the location I went with was about a week then was able to schedule my surgery date a month out. I was nervous at first but was relieved when I arrived and met other people from all over the US getting their surgery on the same day as mine. We recovered together and was very comforting to know that I was not alone. I doesn't hurt to look into it if you are curious. That's what I did and now I am 2 weeks post op and down 20 lbs from surgery day, and 30 from pre op weight. ????
  3. Thank you all for the feedback, I'm definitely checking in with my Dr. I'm almost done with phase 1 so I'll soon be into high protein but all suggestions I will use thank you all!

    Flushed face

I didn't get much of flushed face but I did retain a lot of water from IV, in one week post and barely going down. It makes sense to me, they pushed iV because of pre op and post op and knowing I was not going to get in as much fluids and nutrients the first days post op, if you notice we gain a couple pounds post op but will be flushed out soon.
  5. I am one week post op, I had my VSG surgery last Tuesday and here are some things I find myself looking for during this stage along with all the other suggestions everyone else has given: Baby spoons- will help when you start taking in broths or Jello A couple of One ounce cups ( like the medicine caps) to keep track of your Fluid intake especially the first couple days out. My instructions say to take in 1 ounce of liquid every 15 minutes to keep from dehydration. A tracker or planner maybe a book or on your phone to note everything A Water bottle with measurements on the side to keep track of how much fluids you take throughout the day or hourly if you are out and about, I have a Blender Bottle that shows ounces on the sides. Again this is additional things that I am currently using to help me through this first stage, I was nervous as well and it is tough but with a positive mind and reassuring yourself of why you took this step in the first place there is no doubt you will ok! Mind over matter ???? I hope all goes well!
  6. Hi everyone! I just joined the forum and have been reading a lot of comments that have helped with all my questions.. I have one of my own and if anyone is able to help I would appreciate it! So I'm one week post op and working on liquid intake and Clear liquids, I'm confused on Protein liquids. Am I able to have Protein shakes like Premier Protein that I can dilute with Water for more liquidity substance or do I have to stick to clear Liquid Protein like Isopure which I can barely keep down due to taste. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated!
