I am a 58 yr. old female who's been overweight a good portion of my life growing up. In High School, I lost weight and was in the normal weight range for about 10 yrs. Right before I conceived my 2nd child, I went from 179 lbs. to 210 lbs. in 4 months!! I've not been under 200 lbs. since 1984. My 2nd child has never seen my under 200 lbs. and my 1st child was 5 when i was last under 200 lbs. My highest weight was 312. I've lost weight, although I think it was mostly because of high sugar levels. Over the years I've developed Type II Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, High Cholesterol, Arthritis, and during the pre-op screening, I found that I have mild sleep apnea. I had considered Weight Loss Surgery years ago, but because I smoked and couldn't seem top quit, I backed out of the process. Now I have quit smoking and want to really take my health by the reigns. I feel that Weight Loss Surgery I feel that I can have a second chance to get my health under control.
At present, I have completed all the surgery requirements and am waiting for insurance approval. I just pray that I will be able to pay the deductible and out-of-pocket costs so that I can get my surgery soon.
