I waited 2 weeks, but I probably could have gone back sooner. I wasn't in pain or anything I was just really tired.

My doc didn't even weigh me at the first post op visit.

Weight Watchers/Lean Cuisine
lifeofblair replied to moppet's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love Bariatric foodie like @@Kindle said. I also have found skinny taste and hers aren't Bariatric specific, but she has all the nutrition calculated and I adjust the ingredients If need be. You can even filter out the low carb recipes and such. So helpful. -
My surgeon does 2 nights. I would've loved to leave after 1 though

How many calories?
lifeofblair replied to yami17leth's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My program never gave an amount, so I researched different programs online and then on here. -
How Has WLS Changed Your Social Life?
lifeofblair replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I've always preferred to stay home at night and watch tv compared to going out. Luckily my best friend is the same so when we are together nothing has changed. If I do go out with friends I just order differently. I haven't noticed any change in how they treat me. When people I meet see an old picture though they are completely shocked. One this is nice though is that I do feel better about being our and about. Even though I don't see the new me, I'm starting to realize others do, so I can be more confident. -
When I went for my 6 mo post op they took pics (also took before). That was the first time I could actually see the difference and man was it a big one.

I'm the same way. I hope one day I can see myself the way others do, but I'm not there yet.

I waited 9 months. I felt the buzz faster and with smaller amounts of wine. Be careful if you do drink because you wont know how it affects you until you try it.

What Has Been the Hardest Habit for You to Break?
lifeofblair replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I still want to eat really fast and late night snacks. I did good at first, but I can tell the snacks are creeping back in and I have nip it before it gets out of hand. -
Use them or egg roll wrappers for pizzas. Or tacos. So good

The sensation when they took it out was weird, but it didn't hurt. The only thing that bothered me was the side it was one. I normally sleep on my right side, so it was only uncomfortable then. Small price to pay

I was told the bypass was reversible. It's hard, but it can be done.

My program says no caffeine, even in coffee and such. I even had to give up my favorite crystal light flavor because it had caffeine in it.

Heck....my burr coffee grinder makes a ton of noise each morning. I'll add the sound of a Ninja and nobody will be the wiser. My dog doesn't appreciate loud noises. She's already scared of my regular blender.

I had similar trouble synching with it, so I gave up. I use My Plate by livestrong.

In My Hospital Bag
lifeofblair replied to LoveMyBypass's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I took my own pillow for comfort. If you do, don't use a white pillow case because it can get put in with the hospital ones. -
I got the little ziploc plastic containers because they are 4 ounces

I eat them every now and then. I like them, but I have also done my down with meat and cheese. -
I've been craving sushi, but I know I could do without the rice. Has anyone ordered a roll without rice? I can imagine the strange looks ha!

Trouble finding vitamins?
lifeofblair replied to becomingmandikaye's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Kindle I take mine several hours apart, that is one thing the nut stressed. It's weird because my mom had WLS at a diff program and they never mentioned that to her, which might explain why she was iron deficient a year after -
Trouble finding vitamins?
lifeofblair replied to becomingmandikaye's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've had trouble finding multivitamins with iron in the store, so I'm stuck with flinstones -
We were setting up refreshments at work today for an event and we were talking about food. I made the comment that I don't trust myself to eat just one (sweets are a trigger food). A lady goes "you have to learn to eat just one cookie.." I'm sure some of y'all can eat just one, but if it's a trigger food there is no way I'm eating just one. For me it's the same as if she told an alcoholic to have just one beer. It's going to lead to a lot more. /end rant
