Chewable vitamin and dumping
lifeofblair replied to xylena88's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I never have had that issue with Flintstones. I used to take the Kroger brand and they caused me to have super bad dry mouth, so now I splurge for the real thing. -
I would have never though of that! Great twist on using protein powder.
-
So I will be attending a bachelorette party in a few weeks... I'm planning on taking protein bars in case the restaurants we go to don't have anything healthy and what not. What else can I pack for food as a just in case?

Travel after WLS
lifeofblair replied to lifeofblair's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I usually do protein bars when I'm busy for work or when I just don't feel like cooking. Maybe once a week so I don't over indulge. -
I'm in TN but I had the bypass so I might not be useful..
-
I tried the isopure at vitamin shop. They have a bunch of flavors and some are 40g protein and some 20g. They can be expensive, but every now and then it isn't bad.

please share the microwave in a cup protein recipe

Sounds interesting! Where do you get them and how many carbs? You can get them at Vitamin Shop, but if you like them it is cheaper to order online. The chocolate is my favorite and it has net 15g carbs (http://www.flapjacked.com/collections/mighty-muffins/products/double-chocolate-mighty-muffin-1)Awesome! Thanks, I ordered the sample pack. Not sure I would have gone for the 15 carbs doing the losing phase, but I'm in maintenance and they look great for that! I love cinnamon, so I add a little extra to the cinnamon apple one. It's my second favorite. -

Day 7 - Hating Protein Shakes & Worried about Future Food..
lifeofblair replied to Jenkins's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I second the bariatric foodie.com. I actually enjoy shakes now! On the liquid stage I drank a lot of milk because i couldn't drink anymore protein shakes I was getting sick from them. -
Depends on the place, but typically salads or grilled chicken out. If I'm running around and need to eat I'll get grilled nuggets from chick fil a. Today I met a friend for brunch and got scrambled eggs and fruit. It was hard because their pancakes and such looked so good, but can't get back in old habits.

I freeze all the time. Had to buy a little heater for my office.

This sounds good, but I've found Flap Jacked Mighty Muffins. They make 5 different flavors i think. 20g of protein really good. They are kind of big for newer patients. But all you do is add water microwave for 35 sec and boom. Quick, easy breakfast. -
I have pseudotumor also! My doctor is going to start decreasing my medicine to hopefully get me off completely since I had the surgery. I'm excited. I've had it since 2004 when I was 12, so I'm not sure what I will do if/when I don't have to take meds for it.

Dont feel like I got the surgery
lifeofblair replied to pamelardz91's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I felt like that at first too. Then one day it hit me and I could finish small stuff. It was a relief. Milk sometimes will fill me up, if you can tolerate it. Hang in there! -
Ack! Only Starbucks for the weekend

I was wondering if they had sugar free syrup. I've been craving their hot chocolate, but didn't to ruin my progress. I will be going soon! -
Confessional: Old habits are creeping back in
lifeofblair replied to rnsamantha's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was forced to drink soda one night. It was the only sugary thing in my moms house and she was afraid my blood sugar was low after I fainted. Luckily it was a flare Coke and old therefore disgusting because i can definitely see myself getting back on it. -
Torani Sugar Free Syrup comment & question
lifeofblair replied to TodayItEnds's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Nope she is one in a million, I lucked out!!Trust me the syrup makes a huge difference and I called my NUT this morning and she said therefore fine to add. LMK if you try it! I wish I did as well, hazelnut sounds yummy as well. I am trying the Salted Caramel today! Pre-O I Loved all the syntax shakes, post-op I have not be able to get down any of the five types I had in the house. It was so disappointing to me since they were my staple before surgery. Trying it today, Cant wait!! Thanks for the suggestion about trying it yogurt since I loved yogurt pre-op and the texture of it now makes me not want to eat it! Peppermint and Almond sound great! Ok so I obviously need to get Peppermint & Almond since those are my favorite flavors in general. Thanks for the reply. S'mores flavor sounds interesting, this is getting out of control I want to try them all now, LOL! Please post in this thread and let us know how you like them, good decision! I have not seen that one anywhere yet but once again another one of my favorite flavors. If you find it, let us know how it tastes! It's on their website. I have found some of the syrups at Home Goods and TJ Maxx. -

I use caramel in a chocolate shake. I also have vanilla and hazelnut. Haven't used the hazelnut yet. They make shakes so much better I wish I knew about them when I was on liquid stage. -
I've never been a big cook, but I have found several recipes I'd like to try although I would need to add protein powder to them. Is there a certain powder that does best when baking? Or will any work?

Does Anyone NOT Have Loose Skin At Goal?
lifeofblair replied to careya123's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'm 24 and have some on my tummy and legs. My arms aren't bad though. I was hoping I wouldn't have any but I have been overweight most of my life so I guess my skin lost some of its elasticity. -
Has anyone tried these http://www.flatoutbread.com/products/flatout-wraps/flatout-light/? The nutrition doesn't look terrible on the light or the Protein one. Just wondering. They look big, so I am assuming I wouldn't be able to eat a whole one one I put meat and such.

I found this on Pinterest and tried it. I like it better than typical Protein pancakes. The only this is I wish it had more protein.
