My personal suggestion is to get a few individual packs of different protein shakes because you will never know what you are going to tolerate after the surgery. GNC sells some great protien shakes and has a money back guarantee so if you don't or can't use it you can take it back. I had to take 5 different ones back after surgery because I was so lactose intolerant anything with isolate or whether made me physically ill. When I could somewhat tolerate a protein shake my go to was Unjury.

Thank you and yes with all of the protien and the fact I have to take iron because it is super low (before and after surgery) I do find myself getting constipated far more frequently than before the surgery. It does get frustrating so I have started a regiment of drinking a fiber drink in the morning with a stool softener and at night taking another stool softener. I have to take a laxative from time to time but not as often as before I started this regiment. -

It took up until I was about 7 months out to get to 5 miles a day and I definitely had to work up to it. I just kept going farther everyday and my Fitbit was the best gift ever. And luckily my boss is super liberal with my time because I work my butt off but can't sit still. I have not been able to do protein shakes since I had the surgery because it has made me pretty lactose intolerant but if you can stomach them and you aren't getting enough protein in via the food you are consuming it could be very beneficial for you. Question have you been to get bloodwork lately if so are your levels down this can throw you weight loss off track as well. Are you snaking a lot you should really only be eating when you are hungry? -

Thank you. I am still unable to tolerate a lot of food so I mainly stick to protein, protein and more protein. That would be in the forms of lean meats turkey, chicken, steak, light yogurt, 2% milk and cheese ( have become a little lactose intolerant so I don't do much of these. I will occasionally be able to get some veggies in as well but not that often as I still cannot eat much in one sitting. However I too have gone through stalls and the key is listening to your body if it is telling you that it is starving for something do it but in moderation. I sometimes had to break my stalls by incorporating some bread carbs because my body was starving for it but I don't tolerate it to well so it is very spring but it kicks me out of my stalls when I have them. I do walk around 5 miles a day and do hip hop fitness 3x's a week. But again all of our bodies respond to different things so be sure to listen to your tool if it tells you that it is full stop if you don't have those triggers then measure out portions that are recommended by your nutritionist and remember the sleeve is there to help but it doesn't by any means do all of the work for you. If you have any other questions feel free to ask. I hope this helps. -

I am 20 months out and feel awesome. Starting weight was 387 I never thought I would see 1?? Anything ever appear on my scale. I look at my pics now and sometimes shead tears on how much of life I missed out on because I didn't feel like doing much because of the weight. It takes work but you can do anything you put your mind to. Hope this inspires someone that is struggling right now it gets better you just have to learn how to use your tool correctly. Top left pic was my start and some pics in between bottom middle is my most current pic (pink pants) I would have never! 😂

I lost pretty fast at 1st by 6 months in I had already lost over 100 pounds. It has slowed a bit but still has not stopped I am still losing around 10 to 12 pounds a month and shedding inches which I am a okay with it is giving my skin a chance to play catch up. I also put in work I walk 5 miles a day M-F, do weight training 2 times a week and hip hop fitness 2 times a week. I also pretty much stick to Protein because I still cannot eat much so I have to make sure I get that in daily and it is pretty much all I have room for. It was a learning curve (trial and toilet) but I know now when my belly says stop I do -

I am so happy today I was sleeved this time last year on this day at 387 pounds and felt like I was headed to my death bed if I didn't make some changes. This is by far the best decision I have ever made for myself. I hit onederland (199) today as well and have surpassed all of my surgeons expectations. That is a total weight loss of 188 pounds and from a size 32 to a 14 in 1 year never thought I would see the scale for myself under 200 again. I feel great I exercise everyday and I am not dying of starvation! LOL! The best part is I think for the 1st time in my adult life I am truly happy and not just hiding behind a smile. -

Nauseous 5 weeks post op!
Sweettee23 replied to lollym's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I experienced all of that for the 1st 3 months so you are not alone and couldn't tolerate protein shakes (lactose, whey, isolate etc) at all but you should talk to your family doc or surgeon about medication for the nausea because the initial med I was on was not working for me and I waited to long and got dehydrated. Which is where the ER doc switched my nausea meds I was still nauseated after the switch but it was no where near as bad and my body was able to start tolerating liquids and a little food which you will need to get better. Wishing you a speedy recovery I know 1st hand how much this part sucks but it will be worth it in the end. -

Well almost at initial weight loss goal 2 pounds to go. My surgery date was November 16th 2015 pretty positive I can get to onederland prior to that date just keep working at it chipping away a little at a time. I am really proud of myself and you should all be proud of yourselves too. There is nothing easy about this journey but with the hard work the rewards are that much sweeter. :-) -
