Why sleeve and not bypass?
HeatherB911 replied to seaniepoohbear's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have IBS so sleeve was suggested to me to not disturb the already "disturbed" bowels. I think bypass is great for diabetics though! -
My doctor said dehydration was main cause of nausea. Sip, sip, sip!!!

So frustrated! Anyone know about BSBC coverage?
HeatherB911 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Been to the seminar, been to the initial consultation. When I called insurance, they said if your BMI is 35-39 you had to have a comorbity issue accompanying that level. I have HBP. Now the doctor is saying that HBP doesn't really count, you also have to have diabetes, sleep apnea or high cholesterol along WITH hypertension to qualify. Why do they even include it then? Now, I have to have a sleep study and HOPE that I have sleep apnea??? -

Body Image issues, Mental Health, Post Honeymoon Phase...Life
HeatherB911 replied to Anghelys Garcia's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I can imagine the highs and lows you are struggling with but just remember, life is simply what you make it. I know that sometimes medications are needed to adjust your perspective but just thinking positively goes a long way! I know so many people that would be so much better off if they would focus on the things they are happy or proud of and just take one day at a time, not focusing on the negative. You have a LOT to be thankful for!!! -

Are protein shakes and protein juices the same?
HeatherB911 replied to HeatherB911's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Appreciate your help! I figured if there were "Secret" hints, someone on here would know! Definitely did not realize there were menu items you could only call for-thanks! -

HeatherB911 replied to HeatherB911's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes but just once. Only with French Vanilla and was not impressed. If I could "know" that a certain flavor would be good in water, I would gladly try it but I hate to spend so much money on these products, especially if the juice ones are just as good for you. -

I am overwhelmed at all the information on this site, it's AMAZING! I am curious though because I can't find any mention of this on the surface so I figured I would throw it out and see if anyone knows. I am lactose intolerant and have tried the protein powders with almond milk and they are just gross. Does anyone drink the Nectar protein juices as their protein source and since (I assume) they are thinner, will they keep my hunger at bay? Are they ok to drink as the clear liquids after surgery?
