LindaE, get the book by Brian Wansink its called Mindless Eating. It was recommended by the Psych I had to see. Very insightful.

I am 4 months out. I have had salad, but in small amounts. If I have too much my stomach hurts for several days. My understanding is that on raw veg's it takes the stomach longer to digest it. So, I try to stay away from it. Not worth the pain.

I've gotten stuck twice at breakfast. Several people on here say that A.M. it is more likely. Some say thet drink something warm to loosen things up.

Yogurt, stringcheese, tuna, your surgeon should have given you a list of foods and when you can start eating them

I had a little taste of the things I wanted and didnt even finish that. Then I had some leftover pie filling in the pie plate. (wont say what kind) and a cookie. BUT, I was sitting by a gastric bypass person!! That helped. I did good I thought.

Kelly...when I was doing my best I was entering my food intake on one of the websites. It really made me look at what I was eating. I have gotten away from that and need to get back to doing it regularly. I also weigh once a week at the Y when I go for Arthritis swimming class. How many fills have you had? How old are you? I am the only one invited tho. I took pictures Sunday night for my 3 months post op. I looked at them on the computer and it really bummed me out. I guess I expected more of a difference for 35+ pounds. Something else I think about is--when I go anywhere I am still this FAT person to anyone else. Husband and friends say they can tell I have lost. And I pretty much have NO restriction. I need a talkin to! Give me some encouraging words please.

I have been cooking sense I was 15, and I have nevur cooked a roast in the pot. But then they invented CROCK POTS11111. I use that. But not since I was banded. And there is a band called Kansas. Thats were I am from.

My son is there now, this is his 3rd deployment. I dont agree with them being there. But I whole heartedly support the soldiers. We should never have another Vietnam Welcome Home. But bring them home please.

OMG right after surgery, so sorry. I have had 2 bouts of kidney stones had 4 Lithotripsys on both of them. Finally the last one was so big they had to do surgery and go in and retrieve it. I hurt for you. All men should have to pass a pea size stone before his woman gets pregnant!

I'm not IN Springfield but I am from Springfield. I have lived in the metropolitan Kansas City area for 25yrs. I do know where Overland Park is! I too am 52, been overweight since about 5th grade. I have lost and gained over the years. Diet pills, Weight Watchers, Overeaters Anonymous, Jenny Craig, SlimFast, AccuPuncture on the ear, hypnotized, I tried a lot of different things. Now my knees and low back are a real problem, I had to do something. So far this is working out for me. I would be glad to chat, PM me.
