I will probably be known as the mean grandma. When the kids are here we have some behavior problems but nothing like they have at the other grandparents or at home. The other grandma says they know we make them behave when they are here. We dont give in after 5 times of asking like gets done at home. But they always want to come home with us, so they must like something about staying with us. And we have one that will ask for a certain thing to eat..take one bite..then be done. That REALLY aggravates my husband.

I have chose to keep this a secret from most people that know me. I have not even told my parents yet. I plan on telling them soon, but I know that they will not think this is the right thing and that I haven't tried hard enough on my own. I really need the support and encouragement that I see shown on this forum. No one knows unless they walk in OUR shoes! I am in the process. I went to my original seminar 11-05. Due to insurance problems I have not joined the "Band" yet. I am hoping soon. This is the greatest website. I have been lurking here and posting for quite sometime. Everyone is so willing to share experiences and advice. And to see how everyone has done on the tickers its great. Look around there are meal and recipe suggestions too, which I find really neat.Good Luck!

2bthinagain - have we talked before? I'm in KCMO. Are you in KS or MO? Do you have a surgeon picked out? Wheetsin......we have talked before. I have lurked and posted some. I have been coming here since 11-05 AND waiting for a facility and Dr to be covered under my insurance. Now, finally... Dr Hoehn and Shawnee Msn are covered. So I have to go to ANOTHER of their seminars Monday Feb 5. I have all my records I am taking with me. Letters from my Dr's. I am gonna look like TracyinKS when I go in there! She has her ducks in a row. Thats gonna be me. I wanna get the ball rolling here. I wish I could get a surgery date or at least a surgeon appt. We will see. I follow alot of you guys and read your posts. I have learned so much here and have gotten alot of encouragement from all of you! I am keeping my fingers crossed for Monday. Hello, saw your above note. BC/BS that covers the Auto plant here in Kansas City HAS started covering lapband here. Unless your particular policy has an exclusion I would start the fight.

I attend my first seminar at Feb 5th at the Bariatric Center of Kansas City!!! MEW......I will be attending the same seminar. I have been to their seminar back in Nov 05. But since the insurance thing isnt an obstacle now I am ready to get the ball rolling again. They said since it had been so long I had to attend again. I was hoping there was seminar this week so we could get going. I am hoping for no more snafu's.

That is great!!!!!! I know how hard that was to lose that much! I am not banded yet, hope to be this spring in Kansas City, but I have been big all my life and I know how much of a struggle it is. Dont get discouraged everyone here knows that 100lbs is a BIG DEAL. You go girl!!!

I have a dip....Spinach and Herb I believe made by "Tastefully Simple" that is wonderful on cottage cheese. Chives are good on cottage cheese, too.

I too have fibromyalgia. I am not banded yet. What my worry is, I cant hardly bare/bear to be without my anti-inflammatory. My understanding is, that is something on the no-no list after banding. I have tried to slowly take myself off of it,but can barely get up and walk without it. What am I gonna do after banding? What meds do you all take for your fibromyalgia?

I am doing a waiting game now with my insurance. But, I am determined to join the BAN wagon this spring. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I have heard alot of folks here saying they REALLY like the chewable VIACTIV multi's in chocolate. Good luck on your surgery. I hope to get banded this spring sometime.

I had read somewhere that anti inflammatorys were bad for a lapband patient?? Are their any meds that cannot be taken after banding? Anyone know? Thanksthi
