Thats not good to hear. I am 52 and waiting to get a surgery date. You had your surgery about the same age I am going to. This worries me because I know for us "older gals" its not going to come off as easy or fast. Can you exercise? I would have thought PCOS would be found during child-bearing years only since it has to do with your ovaries.. I hope someone has some tips for you to help get you restarted.

I know you had been pushing for this to be done while you still had the current insurance. Does this work out for that??

I am a United Healthcare patient in Kansas City waiting for approval on getting lapband surgery with Dr Hoehn at Shawnee Mission Medical Ctr. The hospital and the local United Healthcare office reached a verbal agreement to sign a new contract prior to the termination date of April 12, 2007. Because of a separate,unrelated contract dispute between United Healthcare's corporate office and Shawnee Mission Medical Center sister hospital in Chicago. United Healthcare will not allow it's local office to sign the agreement. We as individual members can only make our healthcare changes once a year. As you know enrollment is not open now. That leaves many of us without our chosen doctors and specialists in the middle of the year. THIS IS NOT FAIR to UHC members in the Kansas City area. Your city may be next. You need to get assertive. Thats what I had to do here to get my Psych approval. What if your next insurance doesnt cover the band? Start calling every other day and ask about cancellations, jump on them now!!

Whats a clothes iron!! hahahahahaha If I could I would like to have a clothesline and hang our clothes outside. The subdivision we live in will not let us have one. I love the smell of sheets that have been line dried in the sunny and snappin in the wind! I remember before my Mom got a dryer she had 3 clotheslines in the basement and hung all the clothes down there in the winter.

The nutritionist I saw last week said that B-6 or B-12 or all the B's hell, were instrumental in the health of your nervous system. Does that make sense, its late so I hope it does!

I agree with Fran that you have responded several times to my questions when others didnt. I appreciated that. We all have opinions, what would it be like if we were all the same...... BORING!!

yes, we had a flowbee too. My husband wanted it, so we ordered one. He gets up earlier than me, and I am always so afraid when I come in the room and QVC is on. He has ordered....2 sets of pots and pans,The Showtime Rotesserie(sp),this multi-piece cheese slicer thing..you turn this handle,grill utensils,and 2 more sets of pots and pans(for 2 sons).

I have been checking into lapband for 2 yrs now. I have my nut and psych appt Wednesday. Now I am wondering if RNY should be the route for me. In your opinion which is the better surgery? Help............
