I'm heading into my third week post-op and I'm not hungry at all! I have my slim-fast in the morning and my stomach doesn't start growling until 7 or 8 at night!!! I don't want to eat just to be eating because that seems to me like encouraging my old habbits, but I know I need something...any suggestions? I think too that I might be phycologically telling myself not to eat because I'm afriad of gaining all the weight back that I've already lost (and then some). I'm having a real issue, and I'm truly concerned.

Any suggestions for something besides chicken broth for dinner tonight? I'm soooooo sick of it! I'm still on my first week of liquids.... Thanks,
-
Just wondering... Is it normal to have the sores ooze a little boold/pus when the tape is taken off? I had the glue instead of stiches and I think that when the tape came off, the glue did too. I was banded friday.

How long were you off from work?
Ms.BearKat11 replied to jaycee's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I thought I would be able to go back to work tomorrow (Monday) after having surgery on Friday, but I can tell that I'm just not ready for it. I'm still in a lot of pain, and even though I have a desk job, I don't need to be sitting down all day, I need to be up walking around. I plan on calling in the morning and returning on Tuesday. -
Are there any other newbies on Clear & Full Liquids
Ms.BearKat11 replied to grandmom4x's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my surgery on the 11th, and I'm really sick of slim-fast every morning and chicken broth for lunch and dinner. So today I decided to get Whon-Ton soup. It's clear broth, just don't eat the noddles. So, I guess I'm finding ways to have different things. I'm on a one week liquid, one week, thicker liquids, 1 week soft, and then back to whatever I feel like having. It's really hard, but I'm looking forward to the soft foods stage. -
I'm on my 2nd day post-op and I'm in more pain today that I was yesterday. I've been up though and went for a 1/2 mile walk this morning. But when I woke-up this morning it felt like someone had been sitting on my chest all night long. I wonder how much longer this feeling will last? I guess the good news is that I'm not starving for food. In fact I can't even finish a slim-fast. Maybe tomorrow will be better, I'm suppose to go to work tomorrow too, and my classes start Wednesday. I hope some of the pain will ware off by then at least. Thanks for listening...

I'm 2 days post-op and I'm already itching too! I don't know what to do for it, but I noticed that placing a damp, cold cloth over the incisions helps to calm the itch.

Congrats! I had my surgery yesterday(1/11) too! I hope you start feeling better. I'm not in so much pain, just a lot of discomfort. I had a restless night, but I got up this morning and went for a 30 mins walk. Good luck with your band!
-
How long after the surgery does the soreness last?
-
I have been banded for less than 24 hours and I'm feeling great! I'm a little sore, but that's it. I've had sort of a restless night and a lot of tossing back and forth from one side to another, but besides that everything is great. I haven't felt sick and I'm looking forward to going on a 30 mins walk this morning. I am worried that eventually I will start to feel hungry and want to eat. Maybe not...but I guess I just have to take it one day at a time.

waking up after surgery
Ms.BearKat11 replied to Joanna240's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi there...I just had my surgery (less than 24 hrs ago) and I'm doing great! When you wake-up you'll be groggy, but not in too much pain. In fact I've had no pain medicine so far and I've been up walking around. You'll be uncomfortable, but you'll be just fine. Give it about a day and you'll feel like your old self (just with a sore tummy). Good Luck!
