    Chewing Time

Sometimes I can eat a little faster than others--it's weird. When I've eaten a little too fast, I usually kind of feel it--not so much discomfort, but a feeling of fullness. I actually have to make myself set to spoon down between bites & do something on my phone or start a little conversation w/ the fam or get up & do something, then come back to my food just to try take a good 20-30 min.
  2. I had my sleeve procedure on January 7th & things have gone quite well. I haven't been to a support meeting since my procedure--they keep getting cancelled due to inclement weather. I've lost 27lbs so far (including the 2 week liquid diet prior to surgery) & am excited to wake up every day. It's amazing what a little hope will do in your life! The weather is pretty cold, so I've been walking the length of the house figure 8 style (lol!) for 15-20 min twice a day. Getting a little bored w/ the premier protein shakes, but am thankful to have one I like! Also making some liquified vegetable soup w/ protein powder. So far, so good!
  3. This Jan 7th sleever is doing so well! Finally passed the 2 week stall and have gone down 3-4lbs Congrats on breaking your stall @@acherishedbear!!! I will say that during the stall, I did shrink--just took some pants to the tailor to be taken in at the waist yesterday b/c I don't want to buy anything new yet either. I'm doing well w/ Protein & exercise. I've become a mall Walker on chilly days lol! Trying to walk 30-40 min a day. I could do better w/ my liquids. Mostly drinking crystal light sweet tea & an occasional Proti-diet drink b/c it has 15g protein, but it's 70 cal. What are you drinking?? Yesterday was the 1st day that I are something that I thought was crazy delicious, but the amount was like 4 spoonfuls! I just learned that I get scared that I'm eating too much if I ENJOY my food! Crazy! I take a sleep aid at night b/c I have trouble falling asleep AND b/c it keeps me out of the pantry. Evenings have always been a challenge for me w/ snacking. Have a great day!!!!

Congratulations! The journey's just beginning...enjoy the ride!

    What's the 1st thing

Well, I get my hair colored at a super-trendy little chic salon and I'm looking forward to the smock closing or coming close to having the sides below my chest actually touch or even close! It's the little things!

    Shopping

I'm nearly 6 weeks out & have lost 36lbs, but I'm around 6'0 so I'm just now going down a size. I'm taking my pants to a tailor to have the waist taken in. Found the most comfortable brand--Betabrand. Feels like yoga pants w/ a high enough waist, but they look very nice.
  7. Ok, I'm 5 weeks post-sleeve & have been at a stall the last 6 days. That's nearly an entire week--in the beginning!!! However, my clothes are getting bigger & I can see shrinking. Is this possible without my weight changing?! Eating 60-90g protein daily, lots of water & exercise--the same thing as when I was losing a few pounds a week. But notta change on the scale????
  8. I had my 1 month check-up today & I can't believe I've lost 34lbs! I'm so incredibly grateful!!! I'm feeling hopeful & empowered. Some days it seems slow, but I keep telling myself that it took a while to get this weight on & it's going to take a while for it to come off.
  9. Tomorrow will be my 1 month mark. I've been walking 20 min in morning & 20 min in late afternoon for the first 3 weeks & was able to move to 30-40 min straight the 4th week. Except for today, which is the 1st day I didn't feel like walking, so I walked for 5 min!
  10. I know everyone is different, but I'm looking for some hope from your inspirational experiences:)

    Vitamins

I'm so over all of these pills! Mine are split am/pm & I only see the number growing in the future...Prilosec, Actigall, Vitamin B Complex, magna zinc, B-12 sublingual, Vitamin E, Biotin, iron, probiotic, coQ-10...I'm sure that more will present themselves!????

    Potty Problems

It's terrible & completely no fun having "potty problems." I use miralax in my crystal light & milk of magnesia (cherry is good-ish) & am moving to colace twice a week. I look forward to the day when I can have a little oatmeal & some prunes. Oh gosh, I'm turning into my grandmother????
  13. I'm 3 1/2 weeks out & have hit a stall for nearly a week:( I've lost 31 lbs--I'm getting around 80-90g protein, probably 55 oz liquid--sometime 60oz and am walking 30-40 min a day. I'm doing all of the same things--500ish calories a day. I just keep telling myself that I'm eating SO much less than I did pre-sleeve, I'm exercising every day & it's just common sense that the weight HAS to come off soon! Right????!! I've got to stop stepping on the scale everyday????

    Freezing ...

I'm 3 weeks out and wear so many layers. I also end up sleeping in my Ugg slippers b/c fuzzy socks don't quite do the trick. I walk twice a day for 20 min & that's the only time I start shedding layers!

    My first puréed meal

I could eat it straight out of the oven--it very easily melts in your mouth by barely chewing.
  16. @@wwboy Way to go! I'm 6'0 & was also considered low bmi at 36. That was a tough thing b/c I had to lose weight prior to surgery, but I couldn't lose too much to make my bmi go below 35 or my insurance wouldn't pay. My high was 268 and I'm 237 now at 3 weeks post-sleeve. I sure am looking forward to summer this year (& I never say that!). Feeling hopeful.
  17. 43 pounds in 3 wks is incredible! I'm 3 weeks out (& down 30) & some days I stay the same # and others I'll go down 1-2 pounds. I'm trying to just take it one day at a time & concentrate on my routine of healthy behaviors instead of the scale, but I'd be kidding myself to think I don't have numerical goals! Keep doing what you've been doing & the scale is sure to be changing soon!
  18. @acherisedbear Glad to hear things are going well with you! I think the liquids are tough too--I tend to get a large smart water (33 oz) of water & 3 premier protein shakes that are 11 oz each (33 oz) & I just met w/ my nutritionist & she said that the protein shakes count toward liquids post-op. I was thankful b/c there's no way in the world that I could drink 64 oz of water AND 33 oz of protein shakes. I think I'm going to become a mall walker (ha!) the weather is too cold to walk outside. Good Luck w/ the puréed foods!!!!
  19. I've read about a numbers of folks who've experienced dumping syndrome after eats eggs. How common is this??
  20. @@acherishedbear Congrats on your procedure! How are things going for you?
  21. I've found a powdered peanut butter that is 45 cal (13fat cal) & 5g protein for 2 Tablespoons mixed w/ 1 Tablespoon of water (I actually used 1T of Fairlife 1%milk b/c of the very high protein & low carb/cal) & this mixture is really helping me swallow 2-3 of my large vitamins. Please share anything interesting that you all find❤️
  22. . Fellow newbies, I just discovered something new at the doctor's office today. It's a liquid mix-in for Water that has 15g protein! I'm trying to get as much Protein in anywhere I can b/c I've heard that help your hair not fall out so bad. I got a variety of flavors & tried grape tonight--it tastes & smells like a jolly rancher, but 2g sugar & 60 calories. I know it's more calories than crystal light etc, but it helped flavor the water (plain water just tastes very strange now) & I'll take the hydration & the protein.
