  1. My husband always snags the strawberry ones (b/c I don't care for it, I'm a chocolate kinda gal) & he's talked about the "goop" in the bottom--he threw them out.

    2 month mark & down 50 lbs!

My starting weight was 268 & I'm 218 now. I am counting the 2 weeks weight loss prior to surgery. I was 253 on day of surgery. This is an interesting journey--some weeks I'll stay the same weight & some I'll lose 4-5lbs. My goal is to lose 8-10lbs a month, but ultimately, I guess I'll just see what my body decides to do. Keep up the good work!
  3. I'm so excited! And THANKFUL that the weight is really coming off! Now, I've hit a stall or two during these first 2months & I've had to exercise & keep a sharp eye on what I'm eating & portion control, but this procedure has been the best decision I've made. I'm filled with so much hope for the future (& the near future involves spring & summer) & that's a gift I have not always possessed. Grateful!!!!

    2 month mark & down 50 lbs!

I'm usually able to just eat 1/4 cup. I haven't been measuring in ounces yet. I find that I probably eat every 2 hrs--sometimes it takes me a while to finish the 1/4 cup. I'm right there with you--sometimes I can eat 1/2 cup & sometimes I feel stuffed after 2-3 bites. Makes no sense, but I just go with it! Good luck to you!!!
  5. So, I'm almost at 2 months post-sleeve & the constipation has been a bit#%! I use miralax, colace twice a week & I eat 4 prunes 3-4 times a week. STILL, it's been a little difficult to fully relieve in that department. (I warned you it was TMI...faint of heart abort reading now). I actually day-dreamed about the dumping syndrome & explosive diarrhea thinking...the shaking & sweating sounded awful, but to fully relieve my bowels without a BATTLE in the BATHROOM, didn't sound too bad. Well, thankfully, I haven't experience dumping yet b/c it sounds absolutely terrible. I have actually thanked God EVERY single time I've gotten to go #2 since the procedure--I'm talking "Praise you Jesus!" & "Thank you for allowing me to have a bowel movement!" whether it was fully relieving the bowels or not. I'm the grateful type--in this department, somes better than none & nearly ever bathroom visit has been like a mild form of child labor. WORK. Well, I've gotten a sinus infection--taking antibiotic, probiotics & a few other things which has caused me to have diarrhea. TMI approaching. It's been some of the greatest times. I'm drinking more to make sure I don't get dehydrated & I VERY begrudgingly took Imodium to be safe on the hydration thing. So today, I'm very thankful for diarrhea & the gift of fully emptied bowels. Now, I feel very unladylike for such a post, but keeping it real[emoji372][emoji372][emoji372]
  6. You know how integrative physicians offices often have IV cocktail bars, so to say? Does anyone ever go once a week or every 2 weeks to get a little more hydrated? I'm thinking of just the basic hydration w/ b & c vitamins added. I'm not getting in 64 oz of liquid & am so used to having even more than that pre-sleeve. I'm 2 months tomorrow & feel like I need more water. I sip ALL-day, but just can't seem to get to 64 oz.

Low BMI slow losing encouragement welcome!

I was sleeved on Jan. 7th and had a low BMI of 36.5 I'm around 6'0 & went from 268 to 253 on pre-surgery diet. I couldn't lose more or my BMI would've gone too low (under 35)for my insurance approval. So, lost 15lbs in pre-surgery diet. At then end of month 1, I was 234 & tomorrow will be month 2 & I'm 218. Lost 50 lbs in 2 months (including the two weeks of protein shakes pre-surgery). I have not denied myself food post-sleeve--if something looks great, I have 1 bite of it (which is about all I can hold! Just 1-4 bites lol!) I have exercised 30-45 minutes nearly every day since 2-3 days post-op though. I will say that 2 weeks ago I really assessed myself--I'd been traveling to some wonderful hotels & snacking on cheese plates & some other foods that weren't the lowest in calorie, but having them in very, very small quantities. My scale was sitting still, so I tried to become very aware of cleaning it up to protein shakes, cottage cheese, baked chicken & protein soups. I went down 4-5lbs in one week. I'm really aware that this Surgery is just a tool & I have to make good decisions in my diet & exercise regimen. I'm sure I'll get distracted again & have to come back to that awareness. I will say that I look forward to reaching my goal & going into the maintenance phase where I have a little more freedom w/ the food. My mother is 1.5 years post-sleeve and she lost 147 lbs in 10 months--she's 5'8 & went from 275 to 128 & this sounds crazy, but she's struggling to keep weight on. She swears her pouch is tiny--she's ALWAYS eating. I don't think that'll be my case!!!

TMI potty talk coming your way

6 days after surgery[emoji15]I wish I would've taken colace everyday in the beginning to combat the Percocet constipation. Good luck!!!

TMI potty talk coming at you...

@amelie 2016 My few other things were a cough suppressant called zonatuss, sudafed & a little mucinex & Tylenol rotated in there over the course of a few days.[emoji40]

    Medicine for colds

I just started NyQuil too & got the sugar-free Ricola lozenges mentioned above. Neti pot.[emoji40]
  12. So excited about this Bai Molokai Coconut drink! 1g sugar, 5 calories per serving (10 cal for the whole bottle) no artificial sweeteners & it's so flavorful. I'm 7 weeks post-op & plain water just doesn't taste great to me. I'm tired of adding crystal light & stuff w/ lots of food color to my water, so this is a refreshing change-up...except it makes me feel like I should be sipping it at the beach.

    Scaring and cream

I'm so happy with my results using Skin Medica Scar Healing gel--was recommended by a plastic surgeon. I'm 7 weeks post-op.
  14. So, I haven't had any problems with any food I've tried in the last 7 weeks...except shrimp. I've traveled to hotels twice and ordered room service. I'm trying to keep it Protein first & thought that shrimp cocktail would be a good option--small quantity, protein. Well, I felt so nauseous after 2-3 shrimp. Tonight, a week later, I tried it again & was full after 1 1/2 shrimp---then, I thought I was going to barf. Terrible nausea. TERRIBLE!!! And I didn't bring my gas x strips!!! Found some pepto bismol & feeling a smidge better. I.will.never.eat.shrimp.again. Has anyone else had an experience like this??
  15. theladyslipper

Tried shrimp cocktail & got SO NAUSEOUS!

The first time there was a ginger sauce & the second time there was cocktail sauce. So weird...and terrible feeling!
  16. A month & a half and losing 40 lbs?! This surgery is life changing! I know it's just a tool & I have to stay on to of my food & exercise, but I am so motivated...and grateful! Best decision ever.
  17. OMg! I am starting to sleep eat on Ambien! I'm 6-7wks post-sleeve & really am hitting my exercise, protein & just good clean eating all-day, but have started to sleep eat! The only time I've ever felt nauseous during this entire journey was after I was sleep eating a small handful of my child's Pirate's Booty. I don't remember anything until I get to the kitchen the next morning & see the snack out & then it's like watching a movie of something real quick in my mind & I remember "oh crap! That was ME?!" Anyone had this experience? What do I do?? I'm seriously considering a lock on the pantry! Please do share any experience or solutions you've had with this problem.

    What to get before surgery?

Definitely fuzzy warm socks & great slippers that you are well balanced in. I got a fabulous robe that I took to the hospital, but couldn't wear it b/c of my IV. I also took a neck pillow b/c it was uncomfortable to nestle my head w/ regular flat pillows when I had the drain in. My only other unusual item that worked GREAT for me was an eye pillow w/ wrap around strap b/c the lights in the hospital were kinda awful--but I have very light sensitive eyes. Good luck!!!

    Around 6weeks out & down 40lbs! Yippee!

I started walking in the hospital the night of the surgery--2 slow laps. Once I got home, I started walking through the house (house is kind of long--I did figure 8's!) for 15 minutes & after 2 days, I'd walk 15 minutes twice a day. I was so afraid of the idea of a blood clot, so I was pumping my feet a lot & walking around. Now trying to walk 30 min a day outside or at the mall lol! I'm keeping track of food & weight on my fitness pal--it's so easy once you put the nutritional info in b/c we tend to eat or drink a lot of the same things & you just have to enter the info once. My stats: Pre-surgery 268 (2 wks Protein shakes) Day of surgery 253 A little weight gain w/ swelling & IV fluids 2 weeks 245 3 weeks 237 (stall) 4 weeks 235 (stall) 5 weeks 234 (stall) 6 weeks 228

    Eating Disorder

I'm more concerned about trading my food addiction for another addiction. It's my belief that once an addict, always an addict. Now I can be a recovering food addict post surgery, but I'm still a food addict. I've heard that alcohol is most often the substitute, but I don't have an issue there. Don't do drugs. I'm looking at shopping & over-exercise just to keep my awareness of those things b/c they are probably my biggest areas of possible concern!

    baked ricotta cheese recipe

That recipe is delish! The pumpkin & ricotta recipe w/ egg whites & Splenda is also a fav of mine.

    addiction to carbs/need advice

I've just ordered Proti-diet white cheddar & also BBQ chips as a crunchy snack--15g protein per little bag.

    Drain!

That drain was the worst thing I experienced throughout it all & I'm 5 weeks out. Good luck!!!
