Hi all just contacted my nurse prac. for a referral to a surgeon for removal. I've put it off long enough, I think part of it was shaming myself for falling for the "slimband" marketing scheme. I was implanted 2015 lost maybe 50 pounds and have gained it all back . years of stomach pain etc all the same stories as everyone else in this thread. I really think that this creates metabolic syndrome and makes it impossible to lose after a while. I see a lot about lawsuits But slimband was manufactured by cousin biotech in France not allergen unless it's owned by allergan? I have my wallet card with lot numbers still that slimband and gave me. My email is pcaravaggio68@gmail.com if anyone would like to message. I would be more then happy to help with a class action and get info from others gathered for this if needed. We need to fight this and bring it to attention at least get back part of our money.

Dr Yau and Slimband 2015 lawsuits
pcara68 replied to Bandedbutburnt's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I also went to see Dr Cyriac on my own in Toronto because my port is protuding out and is very uncomfortable . Hes a very pleasant man no doubt and of course he said at the price of almost the band he could fix it. Doctors are allways pleasant though if you have $$$$ . I think Canada should take all bands off the market and stop the surgeries because it enables companies like this to make millions and take advantage of people. It is said at some point all of these bands will have to be removed most likely in a emergency room. I feel foolish for being fooled by flashy smiles and big stories by the slimband employees. I know some are failing because they are not following the rules but slimband didnt provide the support they promised to all of us . That is what I am most upset about. I may have received half a dozen contacts (if that) by the support team . They said DNA testing was part of the service which when I called about my results was told the service was cancelled and they would be refunding for that. -

I find it frustrating when people that do not have the lap and reply to these posts not sure why it's relative that you got a different surgery and other people switched ect. We are here to support each other not give our opinion on what surgery is best we all do what is best for us at the time. Let's not discourage each other . If the lap and didn't work for some people most of the time it's because they didn't follow the rules of lap and. I know when I f#*k up and don't do things correctly , it's my fault doesn't mean a different surgery is going to make any difference. We are mostly emotional eaters surgery doesn't fix our brain hey sometimes I wish it was that easy!!

There is a email for fills even though they are closing it will cost you 300 for a fill because you are a year past your surgery. If you MSG the support person will let you know , I believe you have to give your credit card # I'm up to I believe 3.5. Cc now sometimes I feel restriction and at times none. Depends on time of day and type of food. How many cc do you guys have?

anyone using Vyvance (binging med) with Lapband?
pcara68 replied to Dxx's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
The vyvanse seems to be going well for me along with the Wellbutrin so far its helping , I had to approach my Dr with something I had printed off the vyvanse site because about it being approved for BED other wise she would have never given me the med as you do have to use caution . I was running like crazy and it helped with getting weight off but only increased my appetite even more. I have been doing a lot of research into Keto way of eating and its working for me and when you get into it a lot of your carb cravings go away because you are getting your energy from fat not carbs. I don't go crazy with the exercise I have been moderate (eg walking) and the weight has been coming off. -
I was banded in 2015 and went online to search Slimband because I didn't have their phone number and a site came up saying they have closed their doors. I did some research and found out that the owner of slimband also had a previous clinic that closed and was then changed to slimband. Wondering if he is going to do the same thing and re-open under another name? I have emailed someone that is posted as a support email have gotten a response but I am now worried as far as medical help if there are complications down the road are we left with nothing? I am pretty sure my port has flipped but was told not to worry .........if anyone has had any communication please share. I did ask about fills and am waiting a response but I am not hopefull we will be getting fills anymore now that the clinic has closed. I believe the support person who is emailing me is just someone that has been previously banded but not a RN. Will update when I hear back .

Hi there I dont come on here often but did a search . I am hopefully starting this in a couple weeks I have to titrate off my wellbutrin first but I will let you know how it is going. This drug has been approved by FDA for BED . I know what you are going through I had lapband a year ago and still struggle with the hunger in my brain , I knew it was going to be work but I need some help with it and think it will help a couple of other issues I have also. -
If anyone recd slimband procedure last year , the dna testing has been cancelled and you should call about getting a refund ($500) Nobody was notified.

Weight loss in first three months please
pcara68 replied to amy1986's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hello , banding is a slower weight loss then gastric bypass. Some times its 1 pound a week more or less it fluctuates . I agree with the other post best not to compare everyone is different . Im just a month and half in so my exercise hasnt been the best but when you are up and about and able to be more active it will come off. -
Hello would like some pen pals for support and to chat with or even start a coffee group. I was banded Oct 23/2015 at Slimband
