About Me
Hi my name is Melanie,
I am very fortunate to be put forward for a bariatric-sleeve on NHS-England in 2016/17 & this will be at Derby hospital. Pls read "MY STORY" for a full story abt myself. I'm classed as morbidly-obese, BMI 40, 6-stone over-weight.
A bit abt myself...
I've suffered lower Back/ Spine chronic pain for 12-years after I had my only child at 24-yrs old. I've lost and gained weight through road-running. However, lately MRI revealed 'severe facet joint Arthritis' and nerve pain 24/7. I'm sad that my running days are well and truly OVER & most sport is out of the question for me, so little exercise means I gain weight. It also affects my self-esteem, as I used to have a 'dancers body' as I'm a former Gymnast, 100m sprinter & Trampolinist!!
I cannot loose weight as I can no longer exercise, so I'm trapped into a vicious-circle.
Any help appreciated, as I'm pre-op and nervous abt surgery full stop (I've never had surgery in my whole life) I'm now 37-yrs old.
Thanks a lot.
