  1. @@swimbikerun What was your dose and frequency?
  2. @@swimbikerun That sounds horrible. Did you keep taking for the full prescribed time? I just picked my prescription up and the 500mg pills are the biggest pills I have ever needed to take. And I'm supposed to take it with food...not sure how I can even do that without getting overfull. And to do that twice a day...I'm considering not taking the medication. What was your dose?
  3. @@SweetPeas How many mg is each pill? Mine will be 500, so 1000 daily.
  4. @@mistycal and @@taracutch How many mg were you prescribed and how many times do you take it? I haven't gotten mine yet, but I believe it will be 500 twice a day.
  5. @@MoniiG How long is your prescription for? Mine is three months. Hopefully won't be longer.
  6. @@KristenLe I don't have any stones yet, but do have sludge which can eventually turn into stones. Since I have no pain (although mild nausea throughout the day), my GI Doctor wanted to try the medication first. If I don't improve, then he will consider surgery.
  7. What guidelines were you given on how long to wait between each bite to prevent yourself from eating too fast?
  8. So it seems I am now lactose intolerant after the surgery, which I knew was a possibility. For those that also had this consequence, did it eventually get better? If so, after how long?
  9. No more sciatica! Was constant and then all of a sudden was gone.
  10. I was two weeks post op and my PCP took blood work. I'm now three weeks post op and he called me with the results. I have elevated pancreatic enzymes and he wants me to do another blood test tomorrow. I messaged my surgeon to let him know and to ask if this is something that is common after surgery that ultimately resolves itself. Hopefully I'll hear back early tomorrow. Has anyone else had this issue before?

    Increased pancreatic enzymes

I hope it is something simple. I did a bit of research and turns out you can have an increase in enzymes just from having a surgery. I'm hoping that's all it is, but sure doesn't help with my anxiety. Going to be a long week for the next test results.

    Increased pancreatic enzymes

I do, but I have no pains and my surgeon had said that if I end up with gallbladder issues after surgery it shouldn't happen after quite a while (after a lot of weight loss), but who knows.
  13. How many ounces can you eat or drink in one sitting? How far out from surgery are you?
  14. Surgery is scheduled for 7:30am PST. Heading to the hospital soon and am surprisingly not as nervous as I thought I would be. I know that will change once I get there and can't wait for my happy meds!

    Today is the day!

Surgery went well! Horrible time sleeping last night, so very tired today. Still have gas pains that feel liked pressure in my chest. Stomach cramps a bit when I drink my clear fluids. All-in-all, not a bad experience yet. I also had a hiatal hernia repair and my doctored mentioned yesterday that I may stay one more night. We shall see!
  16. I have gone through all my insurance and surgeon requirements. Spent many, many hours researching the surgery and have been dead set on getting it. Now that I finally have my date (May 20), it feels like it just sunk in. Started having a panic attack, which hasn't happened in a long time. I know the odds are completely in my favor as it relates to complications due to surgery. I've had surgery once before on an emergency basis, so having a scheduled surgery where I now sit and know what awaits in less than two weeks leaves me very anxious. I know I'll get through it, but I can see why people back out after jumping through all the hoops to get approval.

    Any May Sleevers yet?

Got my date...May 20! Have to do a liquid pre op diet starting May 13. Really nervous!
  18. I appreciate the encouragement @@Christinamo7 and @@OKCPirate !

    Cigna

They actually changed their policy and now only require 3 months supervised diet. They also used to require a sleep study, but that was another thing that changed. Thank goodness! Hoping to get my approval this week.

    Cigna

I have Cigna and am actually still waiting for the approval. My doctor's office supposedly submitted the paperwork to them on 4/18, although Cigna says they didn't get it until 4/22. They had some back and forth since then and the review officially started 4/26. Cigna told me they have a 15 business day response period, although they are typically much faster than that.
  21. @@Babbs Funny thing is I've been viewing these forums for several months now to gather information as I go through my process. Yet you in particular have stood out from all other posters from the very beginning in a very unflattering way. So congrats, you earned my first post!
  22. Definitely not! Good luck to you in this process. It is definitely stressful! I am currently waiting for insurance approval, so no surgery for me just yet.
  23. Pretty sure it was you @@Babbs being shitty...which isn't unusual considering the posts I've seen from you. Maybe you should take a look at the particular forum before responding next time.
