After a life long battle of the bulge I decided to take the bull by the horns and admit defeat. I have successfully lost over 100 lbs on my own in the past only to gain it all back if not a bit more. I was sick and tired of, well, being sick and tired.
I researched and did a lot of thinking (2 years of it) and decided to finally ask my family doctor for a referral in June of 2015.I was referred to the Hotel Dieu Hospital in Kingston and will be having surgery in Toronto. Because I had done all the leg work my referral moved through pretty fast. I had my orientation at the Bariatric Clinic on July 17th. Met with the Nurse Practitioner on October 2. Met with the Dietician and Social Worker on October 23. Pre-op meeting on November 11. Tele-conference meeting with the Surgeon on November 18th. Started Opti-fast on December 1st. Surgery is scheduled for December 15th.
