FREE Premier Protein in Boston
cocoa8utter replied to Becoming.Me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Same thing goes for Craig's List selling stuff or giving stuff away. Donate it to a church food bank? -
My surgeon didn't take my gall bladder out during my RNY surgery. I am reading a lot of stuff regarding issues with it and gall stones. What can I do to prevent issues with my gall bladder? Any help is appreciated!

cocoa8utter replied to Vad1988's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Looking forward to get more selection at Marshalls and TJMaxx, their plus size selection was always slim. Also JJill, Ann Taylor, Loft and Lucky is on my radar in about 80 pounds. -
????Is diarrhea only "dumping"?
cocoa8utter replied to cocoa8utter's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Thank you for you advice ladies. I still have it, even woke up in the middle of the night with having to go. I have been reading to do a liquid day to let your intestines calm down. So broth and smart water for me today. I have also been thinking: I had a dental appt this Wednesday and had to take one dose of antibiotics prior to that, maybe it's a late effect from that too. -
Hi. I had gastric bypass on 12/21 and my pouch can hold about 1 Greek yoghurt or 8 oz of liquified pea soup. Or even 2-4 oz cottage cheese. I find drinking water is hard, but warm herbal tea is okay. I can drink 12 oz in about 20 minutes. How about you?

????Is diarrhea only "dumping"?
cocoa8utter replied to cocoa8utter's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Yes it was! Must be the fat then! I do t like buying different kinds of mayo, different kinds of milk etc. But maybe I have to just do it. My NUT says that I have to moisten my food with something, I.e mayo. I have moistened my food with hummus and that went well. I am drinking a lot of decaf tea with Truvia. Could that trigger it? -
Thank you!! I will ask him about it on my post op appointment! ????

I had gastric bypass almost three weeks ago and I thought snacks were taboo. I was advised by my surgeon to have three meals and only drink in between. Sometime if my tummy is grumbly I have like a plain Greek yoghurt. I am also using up my sugar free ice pops that I have left from my clear liquid stage. Honestly I am trying to get away from artificial sweeteners too. I know sometimes we cannot avoid it, but the less carcinogens we put in our bodies the healthier we will keep.

I can't say much yet as I am almost 3 weeks after RNY and only down 23 pounds. My colleagues have been supportive so far, they all know. I found it easier to tell colleagues than friends. My family has been great too. I am so saddened to hear that this positive achievement has caused friendships to crumble. It could be jealousy. Whatever it is, it is their loss. I would love to hang out with any of you!! Xoxo From Florida!

Has anyone found the journey after surgery easy?
cocoa8utter replied to WannabeH's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
@@lifeofblair I totally agree with you, I am also afraid to eat something that will make me vomit or nauseated. Feeling nauseous is worse than being in pain for me!! -
I am almost 2 weeks post-op and have developed stomach cramping after every meal and sip of water or bite of food. I had a soft poached egg yesterday and it lay real heavy in my tummy. This morning I started with cramps. Drinking water made it a bit better, but then it came back. I am back on liquids. This has me scared. Any thoughts on this?

Has anyone found the journey after surgery easy?
cocoa8utter replied to WannabeH's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
@stayc Hang in there! It is definitely not a miracle overnight cure. Don't lose hope. I am a week ahead of you and my weight loss is stalling. But I only eat soups and I log every sip and bite that enters my mouth. I can eat between 400-700 cal a day and feel satisfied. Keep yourself busy. I am happy I can go back to work on Friday. I have been enjoying little mini walks too. -
Hello ladies, I am from South Fl too. I had surgery 12-21-15 with Dr. Cohen. My care has been phenomenal. Memorial Hospital has the next support group 1-19, 6:30pm, anyone welcome.

Apprehensive feeling when asked "how much have you lost?"

If you don't feel comfortable telling, then don't. However, I find it important that you celebrate your loss, huge loss and don't minimize that! Congrats!! -

Vitamix/blenders after surgery?
cocoa8utter replied to RollingRing's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I have a ninja and used the big round one to purée homemade soups. Very useful device, also if you prefer your protein drinks smoother than what you can achieve with a shaker bottle. -
Day 6 post-op: feeling dizzy during the day and waking up thirsty at night
cocoa8utter replied to cocoa8utter's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Thank you all for your great tips. It is an adjustment, my calorie intake is between 400-600 cal per day. Hoping that once I start puréed stage I can up my cal a bit. I had to quit my BP meds already because my pressure has been really low. -
December 2015 Surgery Dates - Gastric Bypass (RNY)

Do we Decembelles have a Facebook group? -
My surgeon says that 7/10 are fine with their gall bladder and will not remove during WLS. He also says removing gall bladder will put extra strain on body and extend recovery time. I heard that some people were prescribed a medication to prevent gall stones after surgery, but I did not get it from my surgeon.

When did you guys start drinking regular coffee again?
cocoa8utter replied to ButterflyRainbow's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I also was told that caffeine is on the forever Nono list! -
Hi Vicky! I had surgery this past Monday but I was curious about what other folks are doing that are a bit ahead of me so I ended up reading your posting. My surgeon says that if solids are too much yet, revert back to the previous stage of purred or even liquid diet. As we learn how to eat without distraction and our tummies heal we will be able to do it, I feel certain. I have a 7year old as well and I cannot wait to be more active. Be well and listen to your body.
