Saved it to my phone. I'll be 8 weeks postop tomorrow and I anticipate a stall soon based on others' reports of when they stalled. -

Help! I don't want to fail at this-STRUGGLING
annam1130 replied to Stayc_b_me!'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@Stayc_b_me! My surgeon stressed that I should only take in Protein at that stage. No veggies, no carbs (applesauce and potatoes naturally have carbs even without sugar added), no fruit, etc. cheese is not a puree. I was told to wait until I was advanced to soft to eat cheese. I would highly recommend plain Greek yogurt with stevia drops, low fat ricotta cheese with stevia and an extract of your choice (lemon, vanilla, almond), blended cottage cheese with a hint of pepper. At 13 days I was forcing myself to eat. I actually cried when the clock said it had been almost 5 hours since my last meal and I had to go eat again. I agree with @@Djmohr that you should call your surgeon's office right away tomorrow morning to discuss your intake and their guidelines. I was very well educated on the guidelines and expectations prior to my surgery. Hoping you have great success through this journey. Counseling may be beneficial to help you sort out head hunger versus what you need to be giving your body. I was not allowed sugar free Popsicles until after surgery. They do count toward your Fluid intake. Same as sugar free Jello. Are you stopping drinking 30 minus before each meal and waiting 30 minutes after your meals to drink again? -

@@Lizpeni I'd suggest increasing your daily protein, increasing your daily water intake, DECREASING carbohydrates and switching up your exercise routine. You can do it girl! When was your surgery? -

This liquid diet sucks!
annam1130 replied to needtorecover's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Protein2o is something I wish I had known about during my preop liquid phase! My favorite flavor is Lemon Splash. I would suggest buying 1 of each flavor and trying each before buying a bunch of any flavor. -

Quick Eats for the Holiday Season
annam1130 replied to Alex Brecher's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Magazine
Family is super helpful in making sure there is food available that fits my diet. I'm struggling with the desire to munch on some tortilla chips right now. I won't eat any as it isn't a mech soft food. Just one of those habits on the holidays I'm not used to resisting. -

@@nurse43cat I did a lot of plain Greek yogurt fortified with powdered egg white and stevia drops. I also found i really liked ricotta cheese with a little bit of pizza sauce and shredded cheese. How long are you being kept on purees?

Do your vitamins make you nauseous?
annam1130 replied to skinnyrita's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I'm on BariActiv and the calcium with d and mg and the iron are great. The multivitamin I struggle with. Today I've broken them into 4 pieces each (I need 2 a day) and spaced out dissolving the pieces in my mouth. It's still not fun but at least a little bit more tolerable and I haven't needed to take a Zofran with it today like I did the last 2 days. -
@@kanaud I found them at my local Woodmans and couldn't find them at Wal-Mart or Copps. They were by the Propel at my store
-
@@jaxbeachgirl my dietician at the hospital recommended them to me and I agree! Way easier to get my protein and fluids in! @@jane13 My favorite is the lemon splash. Cherry was WAY too sweet for me and while berry and grape are sweet I do like them.

I received and started mine yesterday. I'm not having any issues with the iron. I've literally gotten sick from the multivitamin. Last night it passed without coming up and I took a Zofran once I settled enough to tolerate the Zofran tablet in my mouth. Tonight the first multivitamin can't back up despite the Zofran. I broke the second one into 3 pieces and got it dissolved and down without any further problems. I really don't want to have to take Zofran every day. I've only taken 3 before yesteryear and surgery was 11/30/15.

So proud of you!!! I used propel, vitarain zero from Costco and have found Protein2O to be useful! I LOVE water but it got old during my preop diet. I also chewed a ton of ice chips.

Do you have Jimmy John's near you? You could do their "Unwich" which is a breadless sub in a few leaves of romaine. I loved them even presurgery!
