Hello all! My name is Lisa and I was referred to BariatricPal from a friend that
recently underwent the gastric sleeve. I had the RNY on Nov 16 2015. I am very doing
well!
I WAS a 45 year yo-yo dieter/binger with multiple unsustained weight-losses
and lots of weight gains. I had become super discouraged and felt like a failure. I doubted that I would ever sustain a substantial weight-loss.
I put off gastric bypass for many years because I was afraid of complications and
because I knew the problem was in my head, not my belly.
I finally went to an information session and decided (albeit reluctantly) that this was what I needed to do to improve my health and to ward off diabetes,
heart disease, joint disease etc..
For the 1st few months, I was doing the "hokey pokey" - you know "one foot in,
one foot out" regarding my decision to have the proceed. As my surgery date came closer and I began counseling, etc.. my attitude changed. I started to see the
surgery as a BLESSING!
I feel so fortunate to have underwent this procedure with flying colors and look forward to my new lighter and healthier life!
