  1. I am 6 weeks post op. and its holiday time. I am already at a stall (1 week now .... sigh). I started eating solid food 3 days ago and I am not having any problems eating anything. So, I eat a little turkey, a bite of sweet potato, 2 green Beans, and a bite of stuffing. No problem at all. 2 hours later....bite of pumpkin pie. Another 1 hr later (here is the bad bad part), bite of cookie, bite of fudge, bite of cake, bite of Peanut Butter pretzel...probably totaling 2.5 oz of crap in one sitting! I am MORTIFIED! What was I thinking (clearly I wasn't). Has anyone ever done this and gone on to still lose weight? I thought there would be consequence physically if one was naughty. Physically I am fine. Not even a cramp. Mentally, I am very depressed I was weak. I hope I am not doomed

    Drinking alcohol

McCraven: My NUT told me to wait a year. Her reasons were: 1) Most of us sleevers have a fatty liver. As we are losing weight rapidly our liver is working hard. Add alcohol to that, and our liver has to work harder. 2) alcohol can inflame the stomach 3) liquid calories and could effect your weight loss and the rate of weight loss. Dietbelle: I wouldn't think a teeny tiny sip would would hurt, but I would leave it at just aTeeny sip for the toast. Champagne has the dreaded carbonation and of course the alcohol. A whole glass may not feel good on your tummy. As far as food, each surgeon seems to be a little different. I am allowed to eat solid foods at 6 weeks. He instructed me not to eat red meat for about 6 months but eat what I want with the rule of measured portions, small bites, chew till it dissolves, Protein first and if there is room, the eat some veg. Breads, cakes, etc should be avoided.
  5. I had diabetes and high BB. Right after my surgery I do not take either and I am 4 weeks post op and holding. A lot of hi blood-pressure issues is due to diabetes. If your high blood pressure has more to do with genetics you may still need to be on some high blood pressure medication. But your doctor will sort that out as you lose weight after surgery.
  6. WOOOOO HOOOOOO! You OWN IT!
  7. Sounds like low BB, dehydration, or low/high sugar. If you are on meds they may need to be adjusted. Like the others said you may want to recalibrate yourself and get back to sleeve basics and see your doc. Mine dizziness was due to low blood pressure which in turn was due to dehydration and needing a lower dose of BB meds. I hope you feel better soon.
  8. Hi. My heart goes out to you because the first 3 to 4 days is the roughest. Walking will help with the gas in your system. Walk walk walk as much as your body will allow. What helped me was I would start with my meds for nausea, pain, and acid. Take the nausea and pain med on time and don't let it lapse so that you are on top of it. Then there is an other medicine that coats your stomach called carafate that was helpful for me. There is also a clear Protein that is not too bad called Isopure. My dr instructed me to to take it slow no more the 1 oz at a time and shift between a little protein and a little Water. protein and water will be you your biggest friend in the future. The nausia pills, dehydration, and keytosis can cause headaches so glad you are starting to feel better! Good luck

    I was all geared up...

Good luck! I am rooting for you!
  11. OMG! That is so funny you bring this topic up. My "food porn" dreams lasted up to a week after surgery. A few of them were " foodmares" where I would be eating some naughty food on a freshly sleeved stomach and somehow developed a leak and all the food I ate went into my foot (nope I am not on drugs ha ha). Yeah, crazy stuff.
  12. Hi! You are not alone. If you are on medication, everything changes after the surgery. I don't need my high BB or diabetes medication anymore. So check you BB, blood sugar, get your 60 g of Protein, and it's absolutely critical to get your fluids in. My surgeon said dehydration, blood pressure, and low blood sugar (in that order, are one of the top causes of dizziness. Good luck

    I was all geared up...

My insurance requires that I go through a three month medically managed Weight loss program before surgery could be considered . I fulfilled my obligation and my insurance company still denied me. My surgeon ( Dr Snyder, Denver Colorado.... Who is amazing by the way) said it didn't surprise him and that he would take care of it. So he called them and the next thing I know , I had a surgery date, and here I am 3 weeks post op. Did you insurance co tell you why they didn't think it was medically necessary?
  14. I have that problem (all the fluctuations of hormones). I am taking 10,000 micro grams (5000 morn and 5000 eve) of Biotin and it seems to be helping. Good luck
