    11/30 Sleevers?

Hi. I'm booked for 10th. Wish it was earlier. From uk
  9. If this stops hubby from being critical on my eating and it boosts my self esteem then worth it. Think initially will save my marriage as I was at my wits end with his constant Nasty comments. And if our marriage is still not good then at least I will b slim and confidant t date again. Realistic and open minded

If you have self esteem issues, you may want to seek therapy along with your surgery. WLS won't magically change your life. If you have self esteem issues you may find another reason not to like yourself. You need to work on loving you no matter what and a good therapist will help with that.

It sounds like she has a critical husband and I am not sure losing weight will make that situation better. When you lose a massive amount of weight you have loose skin which can be dealt with but I am guessing hubby will find something to gripe about.

The good news is, you will become more self confident. You don't need someone who doesn't love you any way you are. I wish you all the very best and know that you have a support system here.

You might say to him, I can lose weight but you will still be a*#!

Susan, anyone who actually loses weight to please someone else either fails or succeeds, but regains the weight. The only chance anyone has of maintaining weight loss and feeling happy about it is to do it for yourself because it's what YOU want for yourself. At the same time it's so very important to know that confidence or other positive feelings about one's self are not guaranteed. For many people, it takes therapy, as BLERDgirl suggested, to bring the whole package together into one cohesive personality. .......

Djmohr, that last line you wrote? That's not a casual one; it's the one to toss back over the shoulder when you're sure you're walking out the door for the last time. The only relationship that will survive that remark is the relationship that has no reason to exist. And I've only scratched the surface of hateful comments such as that.

  10. Thanks everyone. Anyone from uk. 2 weeks t go. Am still determined. Costin us a fortune bit I feel it's my last resort. Lookin forward t buying nice new clothes from 'normal' size shops,

  11. Lolly locks. I am havin surgery in two weeks Time. I haven't weighed myself in months. Too afraid t. I intend not t have a goal weight, but go by how I feel and my dress size. One I reach a size I am happy wit I will prob have t weigh and try t maintain that size. I think you should assess how u feel at this moment and decide if ur happy with it or not I have been obsessed with weighing in th past and would get so down if scales went up. But as we know the female body retains water certain times of the month, can weigh differently am or pm, and can change every day. I can't b doing with this, so in the hopefully not too far distance I will prob regulate by how my clothes feel on me. Best wishes xx

    Emotional

This is very natural following any surgery. Not sure if it's related t anaesthetic or not. But just think of what you have been through leading up t the op. Constant guilt feelings every time you ate, frustration and feelings of failure every time you weighed or struggled t get comfortable in your clothes. If like me the rows between hubby every time he made a comment on my size, how I looked and what I eat, (which were daily). The decision to go ahead with this op is monumental regarding possible risks, wondering will it actually work, because nothing has worked before? My op is in two weeks, and I wonder should I go for it or should I just follow a diet. Other people will say ' why can't she just stick t a diet '. I don't know why I cant. It's so hard. I am goin ahead with surger, despite all th voices in my head saying different, and my sisters saying ' don't do it. If you've had the op three weeks r u starting t get out and do things. Maybe start exercising gently, have a maggage, d ur nails, treat yourself to something nice. Hope you feel better soon. Would love to follow your progress. I'm sure you will do well. Shows how strong you are by just going through this op. Not many people could xx

Swanson has a Mexican Tortilla flavor that is like Chicken Tortilla soup! Also, boil plain chicken broth with carrots, celery, onion, and strain! So much better! I mostly drank VitaminWater Zero, Water, and Isopure.... but the broths are great at dinnertime.

Ask your dietitian. I asked mine this week if I could use homemade broth. She said so long as it had no bits in it (strain, strain, strain) it would be fine. I'd say probably better since you control the sodium. Cook your meat and veg/herbs in cheesecloth so you can remove them easily. Save the meat to use later when you can have pureed or solid foods.
