My first week sleeved 9th February
dietbelle replied to dietbelle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have had a bit of pain roll on your side and push up with your arms then swing your legs over the edge of the bed to get in and out. I also sleep with a small pillow between my legs ( it personal) but it takes the pressure off your tummy and back ache to. A bit mean by other groups telling you to suck it up! Great you found this new group.. All going through and growing thinner together! -
My first week sleeved 9th February

Another question my NUT has me on shakes and soup nothing heavier than Greek yoghurt. My DD has made me lots of chicken soup which has agreed with me. I think I can add a little pasta to the soup. Whizzed up of course does anyone else know about food? I don't know if I am head hungry or hungry. So thought I would add some more calories. I am drinking yoghurt no problems. Taking maxalon so I stop feeling sick. Sleeping well my chest infection keeps me up each day the bough is getting better. Not sure when I can try a poached egg or scrambled eggs? I know it's only 6 days but my NUT gave me a very confusing list including veges etc. I read one message where someone just put in the blender what the family was eating and watered it down! lol.. This sounds like an easy solution! As for sleeping if I try and stay still it's fine! lol.. Each day I do try doing a bit more walked for 10minutes today around the house 6 times! lol -

dietbelle replied to dietbelle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh isn't hospital just awful no sleep! Today is day 6 and apart from a headache starting to feel much better still coughing but much much better thank goodness for antibiotics. The flatulence has left the building! Well I think so! Wow that was something else???? So now I have just a headache and trying to keep fluid supply up and keeping protein down. I have never been so focused on a diet like this ever and I've been on a few lol.. I think it's the fluid intake. So it's true it gets better as you go on.. -
Survived a Cruise 1 month post op
dietbelle replied to Angry Banana's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Good on you for sharing. I also travel a lot now retired. We got back from Burma one week before I was sleeved ( I was sleeved last Tuesday) so sort from pain and a chest infection I am going well. I have a dinner party to go to in 2 weeks (3 weeks post op) I am already beside myself. As I have told no one and I will be on soft mush then. I told my host I had problems with peppers and curry.. As being faced with rice and a curry would be dreadful. I know I should tell her but I am not there yet when I loose the weight and am more confident.. Anyway so wonderful that you ate out all the time is very impressive. If you can do this for a week I can do it for 1 night! Good for you getting back on track to. This is how we all should live now. Watch what we eat drink loads of water exercise and enjoy our new bodies! This is what it's about isn't it? -
Almost 10 years later

Thank you very much for your story.. I was sleeved on Tuesday apart from pain a chest infection and flatulence everything else is going well. I am not hungry but struggle drinking water. When you eat out how do you order? To be protein first is hard with starters I would think..Also do you drink wine with a meal? Just curious.. Have you kept your weight off? -
Don't give up You are doing everything correctly. I agree with a few of the others go back to your Doc and Nut they are your best friends on this journey. It could be that your auto immune system is playing up. I have Hashimotos and was sleeved on Tuesday when I came home I was 6lbs heavier! So I will see if I loose weight to. My Doc told me it would be slower than others because of this disease. Always disheartening to hear this! Damn disease! He has told me to exercise each day when I am well enough So I bought a fit bit and intend to try to get 10000 steps each day. Well that's my goal. Keep my water up and only put in my mouth nutritionally dense food.. Protein first.. So if you eat out just scrap the cheese off the pizza one slice and eat that. No carbs. The sleeve is just a tool so we still have to diet but its just not so difficult with hunger pains.. Plus we eat protein first. I am staying positive and you will to..

dietbelle replied to dietbelle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Gosh I sound absolutely pathetic complaining about my chest infection and flatulence.. You have been through the ringer haven't you? Just goes to show you all the pre planning and dieting in the world doesn't mean the operation will not affect you. Asthma attack in the middle of the surgery that's amazing the surgeon must be really good! Well done so far.. You're doing really well.. -

Hey thank you all for your positive thoughts. This chest infection is just the worst! I am trying very hard to stick to the regime of fluids and walking.. Gas seems a bit better today... This op is not for the faint hearted is it? -
I was sleeved on the 9th February and contracted some problems in my left lung. So cough cough cough and on antibiotics.. The cough is starting to go away thank goodness! My concern is that I have gained 6lbs drinking liquids I am day 4 and did expect at least a loss.. But nada.. Very frustrating..keeping liquids down now. Tummy looks like I am 9 months pregnant lol.. Anyone else have a story to tell..

How much exercise do you do weekly?
dietbelle replied to ididit34's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I want to walk 30minutes everyday without fail. I have started walking around the block takes about 20minutes..lol.. Pre op only twice a week.. So post op this is my goal. -
Wow.. How negative just say nothing and let your actions speak volumes.. I had some negativity but it's like everyone else is saying no longer in the fat club, we all want a much healthier life from the one we have at present.
-
Yes we are top cover but for a family. So this includes dental eyes etc plus with the new regulations you have to take out private health at age 30. Both of us as we work. So it is still costly but not so much with everything else health wise. Wouldn't it cost you lot for return airfares accommodation both in the Us and Mexico plus the operation plus follow ups?
-
I am looking forward loosing this weight and with the help through his clinic keeping it off for life!
-
I am being operated on by Dr George Hopkins at Chermside Hospital.. I have health cover so it will cost about 6k all up I think?
-
That's a long way to go for your operation.. Why so far?
-
Hey I am in Brisbane too! But my date is 29th Feb and having it done in Mexico.
-
I am from Brisbane Australia. I am scheduled for my op Feb.9th... I can't wait...plus nervous about the unexpected.

I look small for my weight...
dietbelle replied to Kgmz0219's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 5ft 6 inches and 235lbs I have told my family all are supportive except my Father.. He is obese to. He thinks I look good as I am and should diet and exercise. I have and failed over and over again. I went to a health camp for 4 weeks last year in April lost 8 lbs I exercised 4 hrs a day and lived on 800 calories a day. Of course not sustainable when I returned home plus it cost a bomb! I hope the sleeve works as dieting is 80% of my my problem! I am getting sleeved on the 9th Feb. I haven't told anyone else. -
I think it's really rude to ask questions like this..Like asking someone how much money their holiday cost or house cost or money in the bank. Just be straight and tell them no! Don't be embarrassed by the weight you've lost be proud. It's not an easy thing getting sleeved. However it doesn't mean you have to brag about it. Only on this site! lol

Sorry protein Lol

Have you tried Isagenix? A bit expensive but really good for all things nutritionally including protium of course..
