Hello to all,
My name is Judy Boris, I am 61 years old andI was born and raised in Chicago. I have been considering the gastric sleeve surgery for over eight months because I am a diabetic, have hypertension, asthma, hypothyroidism and am always short of breath when going for a walk or walking up stairs. It was suggested by my doctor and by a cardioligst that I consider the gastric sleeve. I attended all the sessions and had all the post op tests to finally be approved for surgery on November 5, 2015. I am 5 feet 3inches and started out at 207 pounds and am currently at 195 pounds (and holding). This has been a very well thought out decision and it was not easily made overnight. I am going into my third post op week and am looking forward to eating solid food. Currently, the soft liquid diet leaves me feeling a little hungry and it is very difficult at night to stay on track. However, I want to lose weight and feel like my old self once again. I want to enjoy a healthy life without having food as a my main source of enjoyment.
I realize that I need a past-time and that is my next goal!
Would love to hear back from others who have experience with gastric weight loss.
