The sleeve went great! The hiatal hernia gave me some issues but I'm feeling a lot better now. Hopefully yours was great too!

I had/have GERD. Since the surgery I have had absolutely no pain from acid reflux at all. That being said I'm only about 3 weeks post surgery and I just may not have eaten enough to give me reflux. Time will tell.
-
I actually had no pain at all. They found the hernia when they did my scope. As far as I know my only noticeable symptom has acid reflux. Have you spoken to your doctor about your pain?
-
I had the hiatal hernia repair as well. From day one I had constant pain in my chest. I was told it was gas but it just kept hurting. About a week after surgery I talked to the nurse when she called and she told me to go to the hospital to have a CT scan. The scan showed that my repair had just settled slightly out of place and the pain was from inflammation in my chest. I'm about 3 weeks out now and the pain has totally gone away.

rescue4_u started following Weight loss wall! Any advice?, Hiatal hernia, Purée stage and and 1 other
-
My puréed stage started 2 weeks after my surgery. Of course you should always wait and let your doctor tell you when yours starts. Self progressing your diet stages after surgery is NOT a good idea.

I had a hiatal hernia. My insurance didn't depend on the hernia as a reason not to pay for the surgery though. If the surgery is for your health then the insurance would be crazy not to take care of it! A healthier you = less money the insurance company has to pay in the long run. That was what the insurance people that I have told me.

This is my first post. I have read thought so many different stories and they have helped me so much! Right now I am 2 1/2 weeks post op. Before I started this journey I weighed in at a max of 340 lbs. I lost 18lbs in the two week pre op diet and all the rest was after surgery. I am currently today 294lbs. I was losing weight daily it seemed until about a week ago. I was so encouraged by the weight loss I looked forward to every morning stepping on that scale. For the last week or so now since I was put on puréed and very soft foods, I have hit a wall. I haven't lost even 1 pound. As far as I can tell I am getting all of my protein in and I drink water constantly. Has anyone else had this problem? If so does anyone have any ideas that could help me get back on the weight loss track? This wall has me so discouraged right now I'm not sure what to do!

My pain is for the most part constant. I do get some relief if I sit with my feet up and hands behind my head. The sad thing is you can't take any inflammation meds because it could hinder the healing of your stomach. They told me the pain would decrease over time and eventually go away as the repair settles more. So far it has gone away some but it's still there.

Did you by chance have a hiatal hernia repair at the same time as your surgery? I am 7 days post op and did have the hernia repair. I actual spent yesterday in the hospital for chest pain to find that the hernia isn't settling correctly causing inflammation in my chest and that's what's causing my pain.
