I am getting a tummy tuck Monday April 14th and my doctor is just now having some concern about doing liposuction around my port area. Has anyone had lipo around their port and a tummy tuck, or either or? Now he has me a little nervous. I am trying to get my lapband doctor to give him a call but I don't know if he will have time before Monday to call him. Any advice is helpful. Thanks, Wendy

It seems like the tubing would be behind the port, that is what I am hoping anyway. I guess we will find out soon. I know that I don't want a extra fat around my port. He has done gastric bypass patients but no lap band patients.

I haven't been able to sleep laying down in several months, it all started when I couldn't stop coughing at night and sleeping sitting up helped cure it. Now it is happening when I sit up, I end up throwing up almost everynight. I usually don't eat after 6, I should be loosing more weight but I'm not, and it really sucks because I am not even at my goal weight after 2 years. I've kept 55 pounds off, but I don't have much restriction and I am afraid to get another fill because of the caughing. Also, alot of reflux, sometimes comes out of my nose as well. I don't get it.

I will have to try the liquids for 3 days, thanks for the advice. And yes it is horrible to have the reflux in the middle of the night, I am definently sleep deprived.

I moved to Florida a year ago and I am having trouble finding a doctor that will see me here. No one wants to see someones patient. My doctor is in St. Louis. And I don't have insurance anymore. But I do need to get it checked out, it does feel like something is really off. Not to mention what is happening to my esophogus.

Before and After Lap Band Surgery - PICTURES ONLY

I still have 30 pounds more to loose -
There is nothing on the outside of the skin, it is a port that is on the inside. they just stick a needle in the port for the fill, the fill helps you have restriction when eating, if you don't have a fill then your band doesn't really work. There is no discomfort after the initial healing unless you overeat or eat to fast.

Alot of people experience pnemonia, and have to get their gall bladder removed, because anytime you loose alot of weight you get gall stones, thats what my dr. told me. Also, I was just diagnose with gastric dismotility, it has to do with my esophogus. Other then that it has een really great

I need this forum more then ever now, I have been sick for almost three months now with cronic coughing at night keeping me up all night, I found out 2 months ago that I had pneumonia so I did antibiotics and stuff. Well the pnemonia is gone but the cronic cough is not so they did a CT of my thorax and found so much stuff wrong, one being Esohageal Distention Suggestive of high grade reflux and/or Esophageal Dysmotility Associated with Gastroplasy, I looked these things up on the internet and alot people with Lapband have gotten this and pnemonia after the lapband. Is anyone else having these kind of problems and if so what do they do for it? There are also problems that I am seeing my doctor about today. I am suppose to be going up hill not down hill. I just want to cry this makes me so upset.:help:

I went to my Lapband Dr. yesterday and he took out .6 cc, I slept all night through last night which felt so good. Anyway, I have multiple stones and my lapband dr. is taking my gallbladder out next friday. I am so sick of being operated on. But the gallstones definently explain why I have been so miserable and so does the unfill. I still have restriction, but it has let up a little. I just want to feel good again. Thanks for all the advice and I think it is obvious that these are all symptoms of the lapband (pnemonia, esophegeal dismotilility, and gallstones) Is it worth it? I am still contiplating that one. I guess I will know more when I see how I feel after the gallbladder removal. -

So you didn't get a total unfill but just .5 taken out and it stopped? I have to get a couple more test next week one is on my gallbladder my doctor said that the stone is in the cystalduct going towards the kidney, and that can't be good. I saw a pulmanary doctor yesterday and he said that the Esophegeal Dismotility can cause pnemonia. I hope the mass is just your band. let me know. -

health1st Personally, I never overeat. It is far to uncomfortable and I have been very careful with that. Now, I did drink alcohol and I know your not really suppose to do that. So that was probably not to smart on my part. -

They found my Esophaus dismotility on a Cat Scan of my Thorax, and I think it is when the esophogus is already has refux then it gets stretched and more damaged, this is just a guess. I have my cat scan on disc, if I can get it downloaded, I will try to post it on here. Truthfully, If I had this before I was banded I would not get banded. There could be no good in that. My doctor is wanting to unfill me now and I don't want him to. I took my medicine that was prescribed to me last night called Levsin, and it really made a difference. I slept more then last night then I have in along time. I still threw up at about 5 in the morning but I think that was because I ate so late at night. I hardly coughed at all last night. I went to bed sick even. Yesterday was a really bad day with it. I hope that the more I take this medication the more it will help. then I will just take it when I need it. I haven't lost any weight in over 2 months but I havent gained any either. I will gain if he gives me a unfill. Does anybody know anybody that has had the gastric sleeve? -

I will look into the gastric sleeve. I do unfortunently have severe reflux as well. My lapband doctor knew that before he did the lapband surgery on me. He did do a hernia repair on me when he did my lapband which was really cool. There is no way I can live or deal with this, I am not sleeping at night for the past almost three months from coughing so much. I will let everyone know what I find out. -

Becky That sounds just like my situation. I have been choking when I eat and that has never happened to me before. I went to my doctor today and he put me on Levsin, have you ever tried that drug before? Also, I read on the internet about a surgery you can get for this situation. I just don't want to have to get my band removed, so if I could get that fixed surgically I definently would. Thanks for responding, also do you mind telling me what kind of medications you tried for that? -

Thank You, I just found out today also that I may need to get my gallbladder out as well. I think I was healthier before lapband. Hopefully I will get these things fixed and then I will be fine. Thanks for your prayers. -
Well, it's been over 7 months and 55 pounds lighter I feel great. The only thing is that I have stopped exercising and I've stopped loosing weight. I do some resistant weights but not and arobic exercise which I can tell I'm not doing. My membership ran out at the YMCA and I didn't want to spend the money to renew it. I thought that since it has warmed up I would start walking outside. I was wrong about that. So I am getting another fill next week which will be my third fill and I am sure it will help me drop another 20 pounds. That is what happened last time I got a fill. Then I will only have 20 more to go. I am so excited. I just need to start exercising again. Anyway, I love the way I feel and I like the way I look a little more each time I loose. I still get attention and I think that might be why I quit exercising to sabatoge myself. I am not even getting on that subject. I thought I was getting acid reflux again because I would wake up in the middle of the night choking and I thought it had to be acid reflux even though it felt different. So I typed in a new forum and someone mentioned that I may have post nasal drip and to get a nose saline and take a decongestent. So I did that and slept peacefully throught the night, which I had not done for over a month. That was awsome. So now I am not hesitant to get another fill. I have been getting heartburn though and that is kind of strange. It usually only happens if I eat dinner later then normal. My restriction is minimal right now and I have been eating way to much. That is why I need to exercise. Can you tell I am trying to talk my self into exercising. lol. I finally posted a before and after picture on the forum. I am not that crazy about my after picture, I accidently put the wrong one on there. oh well, I will update it when I loose another 20 pounds. I seem to really notice a change in myself when I loose 20 pounds. People are still noticing that I have lost weight. Even some of the guys at my job have been mentioning it. They think I am doing it for attention. daaaaaaaa, lol. Who doesn't like possitive attention. I was whistled at the other day on the jobsite. :humble: O.K. that felt really weird. I didn't like that as much as I thought I would. And I don't know who whistled. lol. Anyway. thats all for now. Bye.:Banane09:

I have been banded since 9/6/05 and the band helped my reflux and heartburn to go away completely. Now, just a month ago I have been waking up every night choking about 4 to 6 times a night, I am guessing acid reflux-it feels a little different then it used to before the lapband. I haven't had a fill since feb and i was fine the first two months with it. Now I am not as restricted and having this problem. Has anyone had this particular problem and what did you do to help it?
-
Ok, I bought saline yesterday and tried that because I am desperate for sleep and I slept the whole night through which I haven't done in over a month. Thank you so much for that suggestion.
-
you know it kind of feels like it could be coming from the nasal area, thank you I will definently try that.

It's more like just flem and it almost feels like it is coming from my lungs or something.
