I found out really quick that RNY will make you a cheap drunk. I have only had a drink 3 times since my WLS in March but it was little amounts and it made me very buzzed. I always enjoyed a beer or 2 at a game or out on the boat but thats all changed for me. Make sure you dont drink on an empty stomach is all i can say. Oh and have someone with you just in case

Hang in there. I hope Santa brings you some relief

Other surgeries to explain scars to new partner
mark1733 replied to Shainadelphia's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
OK I guess this is one I should have kept my mouth shut on. I didn't know she had lost the bulk of her weight already since it's not posted but since men are dumb how would I know? Just trying to offer my opinion and since it doesn't go along with yours then I am dumb. -
Other surgeries to explain scars to new partner

I figure if she's asking in social media for advice that he might be more than fwb. If that's all he is then by all means she don't owe him anything but there's got to be more to it if she is wondering what to do. I just don't get the secrecy but everyone is different I guess -

I'm not trying to sound mean but why is it that people try to keep this a secret? Once the weight starts dropping it's going to be obvious. If this partner is what you say they are just be honest. -
60 years ago I would have had that fear but seems like nowadays that's the easy part but it is kind of hard to dismiss. You will be fine.

Scared to finish the process
mark1733 replied to cparni's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I can only repeat what most have said here. The feelings you have are normal and this is a decision that YOU have to make. A friend and I started the process about the same time. We are about the same height and weight. 2 weeks before his surgery he stopped and basically said, I can lose it without the surgery. Thats his decision. That was 7 months ago. He is heavier now than he was then and Ive lost 110 pounds. He told me the other day he wished he had followed through and has started the process once again. All I can say is I wish I had done this 10 years ago. Good luck -
I posted it on my Facebook. Kinda glad I did. I don't have the what happened to you questions. And honestly I couldn't explain a 110 pound weight loss. I think people will figure it out anyway. Guys are a little bit different tho lol

Someone said if you heat the Quest bar up a little it will be so much better. Well I was running late today and figured the defroster would heat it for me. I opened the wrapper a little bit and sat it up there. Within a few minutes, my car smelled like cinnamon rolls and I was eating a warm chewy Quest bar.

Wow. You don't look like the same person.

Im sure some people will be angry no matter what. I wish I had done it sooner. Its a lifestyle change and if you have the WLS and continue to feed yourself junk and not follow the plan I guess you will be angry too. I am a new person because of this. Good luck

Why do I find this funny? lol -
Hang in there. I just busted a month long stall by switching some foods around and increasing protien. Crazy as it sounds I drank a little bit of dill pickle juice for nausea.
-
I think everyone has. I just came off one that lasted a month. Seems like it's different for everyone. I changed up what I was eating. I was eating too large of a portion of nuts and had dropped off yogurt intake. Changed that and added more protien. You seem good there tho. Hang in there and it will start dropping again
