Lisa, so what kind of things can be considered co morbitities. I know diabetes is one, one that I don't have, if anything my blood sugar experiences ocassional drops but not highs. I don't have high blood pressure either. Besides achy joints what else can be considered? Now I'm worried about my insurance I'm going to call them on Monday... Thanks for writing me back so quickly, I'll let you know what happens when I call the insurance. Heidi

Wow this all sounds so encouraging. I'm getting excited to start the process. I hope it's not long and drawn out for months or years. I hate feeling full so that may be a plus. I am really looking foreward to having energy again. I'm sure my husband will be happy when the snoring subsides too. Can someone tell me what PB's are and what sliming is? Thanks Heidi
  3. Hi everyone my name is Heidi, I am 48 years old 5'5" and weigh 249. I am thinking about the lapband and wanted some info. A few years ago i thought about gastric bypass but now it seems that everyone I know who has had it has gained a lot of their weight back. To me thats not worth it. I would like to lose 100 + pounds and lapband seems like a good option. I would like to know about the long term situations of people who have had lap band. I am an active person who has no energy lately, I think I have sleep apnea, my joints hurt, and I know I coud be way more productive if Ijust lost some weight... . Is there anybody out there who can offer some advice both positive or negative thanks, Heidi:help:

Hello From Colfax. My name is Heidi and I live in Colfax WA. I am seriously considering the Lap Band surgery. I am 48 yrs old, 5'5", BMI 40 and have been struggling withmy weight since my first child was born 20 years ago. I feel I have done everything to loose weight. I'm a member of Weight Watchers, I've tried diet pills, working out, walking miles and miles, even starving. Yes I've lost weight but always put more back on. I have so many questions I dont know where to begin. What kind of insurance do you have? I have Group Health and I'm hoping its not a long drawn out procedure to get approval. What exactly is a fill, how often do you get them, how do they know how much to put in? What are PB's? /can you feel the port inside of you? How long did it take you to have the surgery once you decided to do it? Oh Please write me back soon I am so eager to get this started Heidi in Colfax

Laura, I am in Washington state, originally from California. What do you mean when you say the 6 month diet program?
