Ok so my Gym membership is up and I cant say I loved going. I really like getting out in the fresh air and doing it my way. My dilemma is Im worried if I give up the membership I will slowly lose momentum and not do anything. I know its up to me to kick my own a$$ and get out there but I dont know if the financial commitment is whats keeping me motivated or I really have found a new way of life. Having been a couch potato until this year I have no previous experience to draw upon. Im also worried that I wont have enough variety if I give up the gym. Anyone not go to the gym but still feel like they are getting a good variety of exercise??

Sunwyse I really want to try pilates and I already walk, I have also decided that I want a bike for christmas. I think I will do ok without the gym but I have always thought the only reason I go is because I paid a lot of money. I think like my overeating I just have to wake up and realize I actually like this healthy lifestyle. Its hard to kill off the fat person in my head sometimes.

I showed my Boxer so I know what you mean about the politics of dog shows. I loved watching the very amusing tactics that some people will go to to win. Well done on winning its very exciting to get a few wins but hard when you waste time and money and come away with nothing.

I am very embarrassed to say that I weighed myself on my birthday (20th January) and I was 132kg. Today I am 89kg so I feel much better. I look everything and compare it to how much weight I have lost eg: 20 2kg bags of sugar. I am amazed at how I could have dragged that much around. I still have no idea what size I am and go straight for the larger size it hasnt really sunk in yet. I have never been happier though. My sister asked me what was the down side of banding and I really couldnt come up with any really good reasons.

My walks have definitely been interrupted by the early darkness and the fact that I have never been so cold so I dont want to go out. Had my 3rd fill on Thursday and all is good so far except I think I am getting a cold and I am waking up at night drowning in saliva, it is quite frightening so i hope it goes away soon. I ended up sleeping on the lounge sitting up last night. My Dr is very happy with my progress I have lost 65% of my excess weight and he told me most people lose about 50%.

I stuck with 2 optifast shakes or a bar a day and one cup of cooked vegies at night for 2 weeks.

Im a little worried, I am going for my third fill tomorrow and I dont know if it will be too much and I live too far away to just drop back and get an unfill. Im staying in Perth overnight so hopefully I will know before I go if its not working. I can eat and drink anything after about 1.00pm each day before that Im quite tight and only drink green tea. I do get reflux at night but usually only if I have not followed the rules and stopped eating 2 hours before. Is reflux always a sign of being too tight? A couple of time lately I have not been able to stomach dairy foods like yoghurt it just flegms up and I end up pb'ing. I have left it a little late to ask for advice I know I guess I will just have to hope for the best.

I went to a lingerie party yesterday which strangely sold more clothes than knickers. Anyway I liked a pair of jeans and they had a 14 on the rack and someone said try them on for size, I was like "ha ha your funny I wont get them over my knees but ok I will humour you". THEY FIT!!!!!!! I stood gobsmacked for about 5 minutes. I cant believe that in this short amount of time I have gone from size 24 to 14/16. And no I have not starved or thrown up every day I eat healthy normal meals. Another laugh I had was when I wanted to buy bras and I had no idea what size I am because my curent bras have way too much material loose. According to her I am now 16c and the bra I was wearing was 22E, dont know if thats good or not, oh well thats what plastic surgery was invented for.

I kept telling myself that it was only a short time frame of inconvenience comapred to the rest of my life feeling and looking fantastic later. I must admit knowing that I only had to drink the optiyuk for 2 weeks helped I would have caved day 1 if I was trying to use it as a weight loss tool. Good luck its not as hard as you think and the pay off is huge.

I was thinking tonight I would like to start a thread to compare notes with others on the type of exercise they are doing post band. I would really like to know if Im varied enough and what is working for others. For the last 4 weeks I have been going to water aerobics once a week, the gym four times a week and walking the other two days. Has anyone tried yoga? wouldnt mind giving that a go.

It stretches into my shoulder and chest. @$#@ it. Im going to go easy and just walk on the weekend and hopefully all will be rosey on Monday. If anyone has a miracle cure please let me know lol.
