  1. I'm so excited I come across this because I was worried that it was only me. I literally will fluctuate between 1-2 pounds. I'll loose about 8-10 pounds then gain 2 pounds out of no where. Of course it comes right off but jeeeeeeeezzzz!!!
  2. Holla back! ???? Would love to keep in touch.
  3. I'm currently sitting in the emergency room and I feel so malnourished and anemic. 5 days post-op and this has been a true experience for me. Just asking for people to keep me in their prayers. Thanks.
  4. Haha, that post was made days before I made this one. Wow ???? I will continue to pray for you as long as you request it ???????? Lol, right? Thank you so much.
  5. Hey! Just looking for newbies to help me throughout this journey. I'm 4 days post op!
  6. I made one of the hugest decisions of my life 4 days ago to have the VSG (which I'm sure many of you did ????) and I'm honestly at a crossroads here. I'm deciding if I regret getting the sleeve or if it's the best thing I've done. I'm sitting here thinking to myself "what the hell have I done to my body?". My stomach is bruised and sore, I'm nauseated and I feel completely out of control of myself and out of the loop. Im emotionally vulnerable and feel very sensitive at times. I'm craving weird things. I'm afraid that I did let food once control my lifestyle because the past few days... Food has been the main thing I think about. I barely can drink anything. The sight of ANYTHING involving Protein makes me sooo queasy! I'm having a very difficult time reaching my Fluid and protein intake. On the other hand, I know that this will be a POSITIVE life changing experience! I try to stay optimistic in regards of the matter but sometimes you have to face the truth. I miss eating food. I didn't realize how much food consumed me but I do miss it. I'm slowly getting over the notion of eating how I use to but it's just hard. It's one of the hardest things I've had to do in my life but nevertheless, I will patiently wait to see that rainbow. I have to say that this site with everyones inquiries has been my lifeline since 3 months before the surgery to 4 days post OP. This site is amazing. The people are uplifting and inspiring. I guess I had to write down everything to truly understand how I am feeling. I know that this will be a tough journey but I am ready for it. Whoever read this, thanks for your attention and good luck on your journey as well. ????
  7. Omg, someone help me like what the heck is going on! I praise the lord for this surgery but who would of ever thought I would have these many cravings? Whether it's the Hillshire GO MEAT commercial to an Olive Garden commercial! Every little thing looks so good to me. Did anyone else feel like this a week after their surgery? I'm 4 days post op btw!
  8. Okay, I'm exaggerating but seriously. Has anyone felt as though there was a ball like consistency trying to roll up your throat? It does not feel like acid reflux. Definitely isn't an heartburn. This has been happening to me ever since the surgery and it literally wakes me up out of my sleep sometimes. It's a very uncomfortable feeling.
  9. So glad I'm not the only one who feels this way! lol, it's comforting knowing I'm not alone. I'm finally getting to eat pureees and I swear to you I'm in heaven. I can tolerate a lot more things now. I hardly crave (although sometimes it's there, I won't lie) BUT I do feel like I have grown more from the stage I use to be in.

    CHOKING ON A HAIRBALL?

I did actually but it's slowly going away now.
  11. Haha, that post was made days before I made this one.
  12. Hey guys!! Thanks for your prayers. Unfortunately, I was admitted to the hospital due to dehydration, malnutrition and blood clots they found in my right arm. I broke my arm before surgery and barely could move it as much and due to me not really being able to move it, the surgery made my arm more vulnerable to get blood clots. Which my surgeon and I had no clue because it's so rare!!! Sorry for replying so late as well. I've been getting the best rest since I've been here lol. Thanks again! ❤️
  13. You're definitely a lifesaver. Thanks for the tip girl. I will head out to buy some ASAP lol.
  14. Totally glad I could help. Wish you well on your journey!
  15. But I'm so happy for you! People wait months to get this procedure done and you're soooo close to making your dream come true. Stay in touch with me and let me know how everything works out!
  16. No, it's absolutely not okay. I boy burned out drinking so many protein shakes pre-op, now I can't stomach the thought of them. I will definitely call my doctor tomorrow. This has been happening to me since Friday and I have no idea what to do.

    CHOKING ON A HAIRBALL?

Oh snap. I didn't realize that could be one of the possibilities. I'm taking Prilosec but I winged off of it because it's not working at all.
  18. I'm 20 years old and my initial weight was 277. After the pre-op diet till now, I weigh 259. Do not try to insulate my numbers in any fashion. I'm rarely eating and I'm definitely not eating protein which is causing me to drop weight significantly. What about yourself? *254

    African American vsgers!

Hey guys! I just had my VSG. I hope everyone is doing well on their journey. ????
  20. Oh lord, lol. I have no idea where to start! I'm just going to break it down into 4 days. Day 1: Surgery day, woop. I was so excited and anxious. The procedure went by very smoothly, although, when you first wake up there will be a lot of gas trapped in your abdominal area. When I woke up the first thing they wanted me to do is walk around the facility. Walking was/is my Bestfriend when it comes to the sleeve. It helps with my breathing, soreness, and of course the gas. I was released the same day, was chauffeured home and went straight to sleep. Day 2: This day had to be my hardest. My side was bleeding because I kind of slept on it by accident (Bleeding is normal, just try not to aid it to bleed more by doing what I did)! My right side was really bruised and it's the deepest/widest cut they give you so it will indeed give you the most trouble. I honestly was very emotional that day because I couldn't really do anything for myself. I barely could get out of my car, my bed. It was hard for me to shower properly and I cried like a big baby, but I was thankful to have my family there beside me. 3rd day: This day I discovered the "chewing and spitting method". This sounds soooooo gross but I wasn't hungry, I would just have a taste for something. So, I chewed on one cracker and that basically took the edge away. I do not recommend doing this and do not do that anymore. But, I discovered that which helped a lot with missing food. Ofc I was still sore. I walked a lot more, did my breathing exercises and I was feeling great. Day 4: I'm taking it easy. I don't crave as much but sometimes it's there. I'm just ready to see progress. I'm happy I chose the sleeve because I know that emotionally it will open so many doors for me. This is so long. I swear I wasn't going to write this much lol.

    Pre op diet

Okay, I'm disregarding everyone's response on here (because I didn't read them) and I'm honestly going to tell you the truth! Girl... I cheated about 5 times during the two week pre-op diet and I was so frightened that I wouldn't be able to proceed with my surgery as scheduled. Now, I wasn't splurging and cheating all day. It would literally be a taste of 3 fries, or a bite of Pasta, or a chicken sandwich. So, on the morning of my surgery I asked a nurse about my cheating and I was surprised when she said "as long as you didn't eat anything before midnight you're fine". I later found out she went to ask my surgeon about this question (which I was trying to keep from him -.- ) Lol, but all was well! All IS well. Continue dieting and making better choices. Do not beat yourself up if you slip up! Pace yourself, commend yourself and be your number one supporter when it comes to this experience. Congrats on everything and I wish you well with your new journey! ????
  22. Girllllllllll lol, I haven't had that yet but I'm so scared to even experience things such as that, or throwing up and acid reflux. I literally take my damn time. Idc if it takes me 2 days to drink broth, I'm chicken as hell. I do not care lol. And what exactly are you "sipping" on to get your daily Protein intake? I'm having the hardest time. I'll literally drink two table spoons of V8 in the morning when I FEEL like it, then at night I'll drink like 10-15 mg of broth and ofc sip on my Water throughout the day. Zero protein whatsoever!
  23. Not from there but I had mine about 4 days ago in Irving, TX!
